Pinnalanda Restaurant
Known as one of the finest and outstanding Restaurants in Rambukkana is approved by the Ceylon Tourist Board as an “A” grade Restaurant. The place is located in an enchanting landscape with a dazzling view of the elephant bath; it could accommodate approximately 350 guests at the same time. Spacious rooms are provided for those who wish to relax and enjoy their stay. The rooms face the river with a panoramic view.
The restaurant caters the an excellent variety of menus, for those Eastern and Western food lovers. Buffet lunches are available on daily basis. Alacart orders are also entertained here. A bar is provided with a variety of items to the customers’ satisfaction.
Pinnawala, which is situated in Rambukkana, is especially famous for the elephant orphanage, which is under the Great care of the Zoological department of Sri Lanka.
There are nearly 63 elephant living in this unique location. The utilized area for this place is approximately 23 acres of cultivated land, which is carefully designed to the desirable ways required by the elephants. The place creates a natural habitat for the orphaned elephants. For those who desire to watch or feed the elephants or even watch them have a bath could visit the place during the following time.

MA-OYA VIEW: SRI LANKAN CUSINES AT HOTEL ELEPHANT BAY
Awaken to sounds of the ma oya, music of the birds or trumpet of elephants walking across your back yard. All our guest rooms provide absolute privacy with maximum interaction with the untamed beauty of Mother Nature. Most of the rooms and suites overlook the ma-oya view.
Unique Quality: it looks a modern resort.
it is noon time and it is marvelous to see the whole herd of elephants bathing in the River Maha Oya. The elephants are stall fed. There is very little food material that they can gather from the premises of the orphanage except grass. Consequently, large quantities of food are brought in daily. Each elephant gets approximately 75 kg. of green food daily together with 2 kg. of food mixture containing maize, rice bran, powdered seeds and minerals.
