Bungalows in the park
The Palm Garden Village is like a colonial club, but one with a relaxed and freestyle-air. It was built in traditional colonial style in the late 1990s and stands in a large park, with villas immersed in the greenery. This botanical garden is well stocked with flowers, spices and fruit and occasional elephants, buffaloes and deer wander out of the forest to drink at the adjacent lake, which was renovated by the hotel.There is a large (but very shallow = very warm) pool, health club, tennis court and Ayurvedic center
Rooms in 20 villas with private verandahs are comfortable (but rather far from the restaurant and pool-area); service very friendly but also very slow inspite of only few guests present (!), food was excellent.
Drawback: the resort is far from the Anuradhapura monuments, car or public transport/shuttle needed
Unique Quality: Sitiated in a large botanical garden, about 5 miles from the Anuradhapura-monuments
