In Koslanda, not far from Wellawaya we stayed in a resthouse with a great view at the surrounding mountains. We enjoyed to sit at the terrace and to look at the landscape and the stars in the sky.
We arrived at the resthouse after a heavy storm. We found en route lots of fallen trees on the road. Later we heard there were also some destroyed roofs and three dead people in the village.
There is water, so we could have a shower. That was good after our long trekking of hours through the hot and steaming Ella Gap and the mud of the rice fields. Because of the storm there was no electricity. We had our rice and curry with candle light.
Many dogs around our room were barking terribly, like all the dogs did in the valley. With earplugs I slept very well.... even in the bed which was too short with a bad mattress and a hole in the blanket. Tired enough by the long ang tiresome trekking in the humid and steaming climate.
