Closenberg Hotel

We enjoyed a brief stay here. The hotel has an old world atmosphere and a pleasant colonial charm. Our room was comfortable and had a nice terrace with a lovely view. The food was the usual buffet for dinner and breakfast but we felt the quality was definitely above average and enjoyed both meals very much. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Even though there was a wedding party at 9am, we did not feel hurried. In fact we got to see the bride all dressed up as well as the groom arriving accompanied by dancers in local costume!

I would definitely stay there again and I recommend it to others who are looking for a good value, comfortable place to stay just outside Galle.

Unique Quality: The rooms in the main accomodation block have lovely views over the bay. I have included a couple of photos taken from our terrace in the early morning. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony of our room in the evening watching the fireflies play around the palm trees - and the full moon rising over the water but that bit will depend on luck of the lunar cycle.

Another wonderful hotel I stayed in during my visit to Sri Lanka. The rooms are big, with balconies and new bathrooms.

The views from the rooms are great.

The staff is very good and service is of a good quality.

It is ideally located between Galle (2km) and Unawatuna (3km).
