Located 4 km from Bentota this 5 bedroom beach cottage is a nice little place to relax and enjoy a holiday. Spacious, clean bed rooms with AC, Hot water, TV and kind attentive staff to welcome you. No swimming pool but located next to beach.
It has a restaurant and they serve mainly European food but Sri lankan rice & curry is a must to try if you are staying there. Try there Sea food platter too. It's great value for money.
Very close to all amenities. Public transport and interesting sight seeing.
They give discounts at their other restaurant too. Just ask the reception.
Next to beach,
Spacious bed rooms
Close to all interesting places
located along the main road
Located a bit isolated but it is not a problem. Tuk-tuk drivers are waiting for you at any time just outside the hotel and take you anywhere for a reasonable fee (not much at all comparing to many other countries). I took tuk-tuk for my day-trip to Galle/Hikkaduwa/Beruwela. I also went by tuk-tuk any time I needed to go somewhere by train. It takes 15 min by tuk-tuk to train station in Alutgama. There are few small restaurants nearby the hotel and also some stalls selling basic souvenirs, some basic staff for tourists, bear, water, fruit and biscuits. But instead you get a very quiet location away from the noise, crowding and pollution.
Beach is beautiful, big, clean (see the pict.) but it is impossible to swim due to big waves and strong dangerous current. Beside that, in the beach you can be easily bothered by beach-boys. So, everyone preferred to stay around the pool area. The view from every part is marvelous and you can always see and hear the ocean.
Food wastasty, various, never any stomach troubles. I had HB and was quite satisfied. During supper the group of 3 people played music while going from one table to other.
Quite nice pools (separate pool for children) and 2 jacuzzies (see pict.). Plenty of sun beds. The only negative thing that all guests complained about is towels. Both pool towels and those in room were very smelly and felt like dirty and unwashed. You better bring your own towels.
There are only medium-large pool area with a little garden and that?s all. You can play darts and billiard. There is a gymnasium but I do not remember the quality of it. In the evening it always was some simple show beside the pool.
Ayurweda center with massage. Massage was not as good as I had in Thailand but quite OK if you have plenty of time and want to relax your muscles. (around 10 usd 30min)
Very spacious and clean rooms with all the necessities (see pict.) The only dissatisfaction is towels. There is no in-room safety-box but you can put your valuables in the safe in the lobby.
Very nice staff indeed. I hope that no one of the staff, local people or guests was killed by tsunami and that the hotel escaped big damages.
Window and balcony
Wonderful panorama windows going from floor to ceiling and from one wall to another. You can see the ocean from your bed. You can hear the sound of the ocean even with balcony door closed! The sea-view from your room is just breathtaking! And what a pleasure to sit on the balcony in the night, listen to the waves, inhale sea air, watch the moon lighting up the ocean, hear the sound of palm leaves touched by breeze! During the rain and thunder it is even better!
On departure every guest receives a present from the staff ? good Ceylon tea. It is unexpected and very nice detail that makes you feel appreciated and welcomed guest.
