Friendliest Hotel we have ever stayed in.
My wife and I took a fully inclusive package deal from the UK.
Beautiful beach view from the airconditioned bedroom. The bed was large enough to fit a small family! The room was kept spotless. The staff were always smiling and cheerful and this transferred itself to the guests who ended up in large social friendly groups.
The buffet restaurant had many choices of local and international cuisine. See photo of chefs creations.
The Hotel's only mild negative was it was a bit "tired" and gave a Colonial impression. In summary we had an excellent holiday.

PS The hotel has *** on the wall outside and is well justified.
Unique Quality: On the beach which goes to the horizon in each direction. Close to the airport but far enough away to hear nothing.
Grass area by the beach.
Spotless swimming pool.
My wife fancied sitting beside the waves having dinner (Shirley valintine look a like) and when the management heard of this they set up a dinner party for us and our new friends on the sands.
ONLY 2 hours drive to the elephant orphanage which is an absolute must but use a local guide parked in the hotel car park.
Another must is a motor boat trip up the local river to see jungle and wild life.

Great value hotel
HAD A LOVELY TIME HERE.
STAFF VERY FRIENDLY, FOOD EXCELLENT..WE WERE ALL INCLUSIVE BUT OTHER BOARDS ARE AVAILABLE TOO.
I WOULD RECOMMEND TO COUPLES, SINGLES, FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN ARE
CATERED FOR BUT MAYBE A BIT QUIET FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR A PARTY/LIVELY ATMOSPHERE. IT IS A SMALL HOTEL REALLY WITH JUST 75 ROOMS,
VERY CLOSE TO SHOPS ETC IN NEGOMBO.
SITUATED IN AN AREA OF NEGOMBO CALLED ETHUKALA.
30MINUTE TRANSFER FROM THE AIRPORT IN COLOMBO.
ALL ROOMS ARE AIRCONDITIONED, TELEPHONE, SHOWER,
THERE IS A RESTAURANT, TENNIS COURT, BAR , COFFEE SHOP, WATERSPORTS.

This was another educational to see the hotels in Sri Lanka, We stayed at a hotel called the Goldi Sands a basic 2* in Negombo., on an All Inclusive basis.
This hotel was as I said earlier very basic but adequate for our needs. It was on a really nice stretch of beach, swimming pool, and all rooms had ceiling fan and mosquito nets.
It was also in an excellent location for exploring Negombo.
