The Sunflower is situated on the seafront, in the heart of Negombo. The resort was once a fishing village and one can still see much of its original character. The sight of fishermen arriving on shore in the morning ready to sell their catches at the local market is a regular occurrence.
There are several bigger hotels nearby, but only Sunflower Hotel is a real family hotel, simple but clean and convenient with a nice, not too big pool and an adjacent private beach area. Ac or fan-equipped rooms looking to the pool / sea, and a small partly outdoor restaurant complete the hotels amenities. Food was very good, staff friendly. Only drawback the not so appealing neighbourhood.

The Sunflower was adequate for my purposes. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are a little basic, but hey, you are hardly in them! The hotel has a good sized swimming pool and all rooms face west for some lovely sunsets from your balcony.
