Angel Inn: New Addition
It was under construction when I visited Negombo last year, while going to check in at Star Beah I have seen this newly opend Guest House it attracted me alot, nice tiled room, specious bath and very comfortable bed.
Negotiated the price to 800 SLR for 4 days (Ask was 1000) for room with fan. There are 3 rooms on the ground floor (2 Fan 1 with A/c) and 3 rooms are under cosntruction on upper floor so it can be noisy during day time (its near complition)
Will up load photos soon.
Clean and affordable. Less then 25 meters to the beach. The Owner Mr. Marcus is such a charecter you can have a chat with him as long as you like. Very late check out is possible with out paying any thing extra.
Airport Pick and Drop is also offered at reasonable price. I paid 600 SLR for Drop off by Tuk Tuk.

Ice Bear Guest House: Sri Lanka with Suissness..
Ice Bear Guest House turned to be my favourite guesthouse in Sri Lanka. Arriving there very early in the morning, tired after a long flight and totally unaccustomed to Negombo’s humidity, I had the feeling that I arrived at a small oasis. My impression of the place was positive from the beginning; outside my room, in the middle of a cute garden, a nice label was placed: “welcome Ms. Theodosia”. The room itself was of very good value: simple, but clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food really good! I loved the homemade muesli at breakfast (excellent!) and also the seafood. The ayuwerdic massage from Mr. Pereira is also highly recommended; this one was the best and most inexpensive I had in Sri Lanka…

Searhorse Palace Hotel: The Oacis in Negombo
We have found our oacis in the lovely town of Negombo, in Sri Lanka. Seahores hotel at the end of Sylvester Road, a former recident that has been transformed into, for us, a five star hotel. It is approx 25 hi-lux rooms and 6 cabanas (2 bedroom and a sittingroom), nice garden, very good food, swimmingpool and reception bar and a lovely staff.
We stayed there for two weeks in 2005 and have already booked rooms for our next trip, easter 2007.
Since the hotel is situated like it is, you become a part a family, the personal take good care and have time to talk to you, the cooks can also prepare special meals.

Hotel Silver Sands: Good value and near airport
This hotel is economical. The room is ok and the rate ranges from Rs900-1300 for room with fan (quite a bit of mosq. in the room) or Rs1700 for air con room. The one I stayed was room No. 1 Rs1,000. Breakfast cost Rs150. 10% service charges are extra. They are happy to do booking for you via internet.
If wish, you can pre-arrange airport transfer for Rs900. You may try a better deal and check out at the airport upon arrival. But I dont think it should go lower than Rs500.
See more pics for room view, breakfast, and view from hotel.

Dephani and Star beach: best for budget travellers
Dephani and star beach are owned by two brothers and they are both good places to stay if you don't want to spend much money and you want to stay on the beach.
Dephani has a more familiar atmosphere and a nice garden but star beach has a better restaurant .
Their rooms cost between 700rs to 1200 or so.
They 're very clean and they all have fan, bathroom and mosquito net ( all that you need! ).
From the garden you can enjoy a spectacular sunset!

We were only there one night. The rooms were ok. The food was a little expensive and not great. Some poeple love this place.
The owner is nice. There's an internet connection that's competatively priced.
Great location on the beach.
