Nice hotel in taipei: Taipei

by Goienaga

I stayed for 4 nights and I must say that the hotel is the best for the price in all Taipei, it is well located 2 minutes walk to the subway and bus stop just in front a lot of places to eat just minutes away and even a market for the day and a small night market for the night. They speak english also and the breakfast in included and adecuate.

There is a con although most of the rooms have no windows at all so can feel some kind of claustrophobia, but this is not my case, and i enjoyed the stay.

Tayih Landis: best hotel in Tainan, Taiwan

by Pocohonta

totally enjoyed my stay here.
The free bus from the Taiwan bullet train stops across the street from this hotel.
It is next to the most modern shopping center of Tainan, has a beautiful gym, pool, and variety of jacuzzi, as wells as men & women only saunas and hot tubs.
The room is large, beautiful, clean, and befitting of a 5-star hotel. The price is fair and the cost of hotel services (spa massage, etc.) is reasonable.

The spa appointments are full but I managed to get one, and took advantage of the special (stone massage) and it was wonderful.

beautiful gym/pool/spa !!! gotta see and use it.

Sweden Holiday, Ching Jing: Luxury stay

by dachel

We paid $3800 for one 4ppl-room but they upgrade us to two 2ppl-room so they can give the room to other bigger group. Wifi is in lobby only.

Both room are @ L3 and someone from hotel help us to carry the luggage up. One of the room come with balcony with full view window. The scenery is simply stunning.

Another room comes with astronomical observation. No balcony.

Both without bathtub. The beds are comfortable. Dinner & breakfast are included.

Do go for breakfast earlier. During our visit, we went down for breakfast around 9am and the porridge is finished without topping up even though it is within the breakfast time.

You may spend two to three days to explore this place. Go for sunset in HeHuan Shan, hot spring, visit little Sweden, qingqing grassland etc or just enjoy the cooling weather on the mountain.

Provence Rose Lodge, Ching Jing: Rose Garden on rose season

by dachel

We paid $3575 for 4ppl-room. Warm staff and warm atmosphere. Bathtub & bathgel, toothbrush & paste are provided. The beds are very comfortable. Stay includes dinner (free pasta or top up for other option), afternoon tea (simple coffee or tea with cookies) and breakfast (bread, coffee, tea & porridge). Wifi does not seem working in room but in lobby is fine. Nice view of cloud sea from the restaurant

Nothing special to do at night. So just sit down in the restaurant, chat and relax and it is time when you fully concentrate on chatting with the loved one.

They have own rose garden. Do go at the right season. The bathtub made by wood and the decoration is very pretty. Stunning view from restaurant. Paintings decorated

Puliwas (wa Bao): Fairy Tale castle

by dachel

We paid NT2400 for 4ppl room but given 2ppl room http://www.puliwas.tw/?id=1328&id2=261#pgo there is one queen size bed. The host add one more mattress on the jap-style floor. No bathtub but shampoo, bathgel, toothbrush & paste are provided. Home-made breakfast (bread, coffee & tea & porridge with simple dishes) included.

The host is friendly. This house look like castle outside with nice garden. If you live at above 1st floor, you need to carry your luggage up and down.

Clothes washing is allowed.

If you want to know how to settle lunch & dinner, do check with the host before booking. No advise on this point.

There is free eco-tour at night. This is very fun. We have great time to friend with frogs.

Flying Cow Ranch: farm stay

by dachel

We paid NT4400 for euro-style cottage 4ppl-room with two queen size beds. The room is big and clean with balcony. No bathtub but shampoo, bathgel, toothbrush & paste are provided. Breakfast (bread & porridge with simple dishes) included

If you live at higher floor, you need to carry your luggage up and down. The staff are friendly and helpful to brief us during check in. Do check the brochures and coupons issued. One of them is free DIY activities at 8pm. We miss it during our stay and only found it next morning.

There are common area with computers, books, radio, sofa that you can mixed with others who live @ the same cottage.

There are many DIY activities such as making cake, ice-cream, cheese etc at certain slot. One or two session only. It is chargeable & only till aroud 5pm. FOC animal feeding is only for certain timing. You can "rent" the little duckie or calf 5min & babysit them..

Do check the timing on the brochures. If you intend to join, do arrival earlier. Unless you arrived earlier in the morning, if not it will be too rush to enjoy.

There is one restaurant selling hotpot and another serves fast food.

Peach Hotel, HsinChu: value for money

by dachel

We paid NT2400 for the family room with two queen size beds. Nothing fancy but the room is clean with bathtub. Shampoo, bathgel, toothbrush & paste are provided. Breakfast (bread & porridge with simple dishes) included. Conversion plug (for Singapore) is loan by the reception counter.

This hotel provide some special recipe for couples. Interesting! The water cooling machine which is inside the room serves both cool and hot water. Room with wifi.

Lu Shan Garden Resort: Lu Shan hotels

by choong1948

My stay in Lu Shan Garden Resort was the most unforgettable experience I had in Taiwan. The room I stayed in is labelled as Exquisite. See attached pictures and judged by yourselves.
1. The bed - you can feel the spring and made my sleep most uncomfortable.
2. The power points are behind the TV. TV reception is poor due to the geography of the area.
3. If you intend to eat in the hotel, do place your order in advance. Otherwise you will have to go hungry if you cannot go out when it is raining.
4. You need to let the tap runs for a few minutes to get hot spring water to take a bath. Anyway,
I took my bath at the Hot Spring area before dinner time. Did not bathe in the morning as the bathroom puts me off.
5. Breakfast was congee/rice. The rest of the breakfast consisted of side dishes which came in a set per room basis. It is not laid out buffet style.

The room is very rundown. For hot/cold water, you need to take it from a dispenser down the hall way.

Hot spring bath.

BayView Hotel: Hualien's Hideaway

by choong1948

I was very pleased with the reception given to me by Mr. Juan Lin. He is the only one who could speak very good English and I appreciate the attention he has given to me from the time I booked the hotel till I took my leave from the hotel.
The hotel is situated by the beach facing the Pacific Ocean. The room I stayed in is very nice and clean. As for breakfast it is the usual congee, plain dumplings, congee side dishes , coffee, fresh milk, fruits. bread, butter and jam.
I would certainly recommend travellers who enjoy the sea to stay here. The hotel is within walking distance of Chihsingtan Beach. The hotel also provides bicycle for you to ride along the bicycle paths along the beach front. Unfortunately, I was deprived the opportunity to ride the bicycle as it was raining when I was there. And the bicycle keeper will not allow his bicycles to be used in the rain to maintain the life span of the bicycles from rust. Understandable.

Great view of the Pacific Ocean.

The hotel will arrange for pickup at the Hualien train station upon your arrival. You need to inform them at least 2 days in advance about your date of arrival and the estimated time of arrival at the train station.
The hotel is quite a distance from the city centre and your cab fares to the city shopping area might cost you NT350 to/fro if arranged by the hotel. You might pay more if you call the taxi yourself. There is a restaurant nearby but do not expect alot from it.

Keyman's Hotel, Taipei: Tourist hotel

by choong1948

The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Taipei Main Station. If you take the Kuo Kuang bus from the Taoyuan Terminal 2 Airport or the Terminal 1 you will be dropped off at TMS and will be able to walk to the hotel.
The hotel is located at Hwaining St. to the right of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dept. Store which is along
Chung Hsiao W Rd. As you exit from TMS to Chung Hsiao W Rd. walk to the right. Cross over to the Dept. Store and cross the road to the right. The hotel is at the next road to the left.
The lobby staff are friendly and so are the other staff. You need to book early to avoid disappointed. This hotel is very popular.
The rooms are clean though you might face difficulty in getting an extra plug point for your laptop or charging your handphone. I used the bathroom power point to charge my handphone.
The breakfast mainly consist of congee, sides for congee, coffee, bread, butter, jam, drinking water and eggs.
For lunch you can walk to the Shin Kong Dept. store basement which have a good variety of food sold or you can go over to TMS a floor above the TRA ticketting counter where there is a big food court.
