by limkahwan

Fantastic hotel. Within walking distance to railway, MRT, bus stations, food outlets, Nanhua Rd & Liuhe Night markets. Room and bathroom very clean, comfortable. Internet facilities good. Front office staff friendly and helpful. Sofar the best hotel compared to Taipei and Hualien hotels. Extended 2 nights stay.

Friendly and Helpful front office personnel and great Location.

Shangri La Hotel Tainan: Hotel Tainan

by matthewh1

I stayed at the Shangri La Hotel in Tainan for a week.
The hotel is attached to a shopping mall and close to the train station.
My only problem with the hotel was that the hotel was on the other side of the railway station and that you have to walk through a pedestration subway system and a main road to get to the hotel.
Their are plenty of taxi's availble form the station if you wish to take one to the hotel.
The pedestration subway is straight in front of the station, the tourist infromation centre is immediately on the right hand side as you walk out of the platform gates, its a big yellow building, which somehow I did not see when I first arrived at the station.

The hotel has amazing facilities sauna and a pool.
They have single sex facilties both with a whirlpool and a sauna.
If you are going to use to whirpool you have to be completly naked as they dont allow people to wear their swim wear.
In the mens changing room they have razor blades, toothbrushes, combs, shaving cream and after shaving cream, all free to use.
My hotel room was a massive room with a double bed, wide tv and a sofa.
You can turn a knob on the wall in the bathroom and you can hear the tv while you are on either the toilet or in the shower.
Fresh fruit is provided for you each day, banana, apple and an orange.

River Veiw Hotel: Hotel

by matthewh1

I stayed at the River View Hotel in February 2011.
The River Veiw Hotel in Taipei is a basic hotel close to a mayor highway.
The breakfast room is on the top floor of the hotel looking over the river, but the view is not a good one as their are allot of roads crossing the river and a huge billboard to the side of the hotel.
The orange juice was watered down, they provided both chinese and western breakfasts.
The staff were friendly and helpfull.
The hotel was close to Taipei city centre, it was a 10 mintunte walk to nearest MRT station. Through walking the last couple of miles to the hotel from the station the streets were empty.
It also seems to me that different rooms of the hotel have different TV stations. As I stayed for a week before moving down to Tatian and then stayed one day before I flew back to London and the second time I stayed I had more cable channels including the BBC world service.

Taiwan Taoyuan Temporary Accommodation: Achi's Free Guesthouse

by flylinux

My new home is near the Zhongli Station. Although it is not a hotel, it's thirty minutes from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (IATA: TPE, ICAO: RCTP) (traditional Chinese: 臺灣桃園國際機場 or traditional Chinese: 台灣桃園國際機場) by car. The amount you have to pay is NT$270 per night one room or free. Is the accommodation free of charge? Yes,it is if you can promise me that you will provide me free accommodation when we travel to your country.

Nei Jiang Hotel: Nei Jiang Hotel

by cheapskate

I go to Taipei quite often and usually stay in Neijiang. Have also recommended many ppl to stay and mostly satisfied. Here're website add and contact numbers.
Don't think they have an email though. I usually make my reservations over the phone and get an instant confirmation.

Cheapest room is 1280 i think. But you might consider a bigger room with 2 big beds (very common in Taiwan) and have a better economy of scale in the prices.

Landis Hotel: Landis Hotel

by boot1133

OK hotel, was probably really good ten or fifteen years ago. Mediocre breakfast. Location is OK, but not great. Electricity in every room is messed up. When lights are turned off, the power outlets to out so your phone and computer don't charge - really messed up in almost every room. Overpriced for Taipei, there are better options.

No unique qualities - except they have no pool or spa!

Hotel Howard Plaza: Hotel Howard Plaza

by sheriwong

Think is 5* No complains about Hotel
Rather a quiet area around the hotel.
There are 2 or 3 level of shops at the Hotel itself upmarket though.
Easily accessible from the airport . Take a bus which is US$5/- (NT145)
which stops exactly at the Hotel. Also same pickup point for your return trip to the airport.
Outside there are shops for meals around US$3 for American Breakfast
is walking distance to Zhongshan MRT station where Sogo Departmental stores are located
there is a food court and mall linked to the MRT station.
From Fuxing MRT take 2 train stations to the Taipei 101 US$0.60

Good location from airport
and also walking distance to MRT.
Also food & convenience stalls around the hotel.

Tango Taipei XinYi: Nice business hotel in Taipei

by Sambawalk

It is a business hotel, so it is in between of cheaper budget hotel and 5 stars hotel. I stayed in a jounior suit and it comes with Nano Bubble Hot Spring or KohleCSPA and 3 TVs in the room. Amazing! Location is good and close to town.

Fullerton Hotel, Taipei: Excellent Hotel, good value

by boot1133

Stayed twice in two weeks, very clean, modern, and well appointed. One of the better options and the price is comparable to other hotels (i.e. Landis hotels) but with better quality.

Very modern, roomy, with contemporary furnishings.

Many: Hotels

by Kyle-Taiwan

There are hotels everywhere in every city and tourist spot. Taiwan is really setup for travel as the 23 million people that live on this tiny island really make use of them. You will be hard pressed to go somewhere that has no bed!

Cities have everything, some hotels (such as in Taijong) have their own swimming pool inside!

Mountains and tourist areas generally have hotels and B&B's. hotels are often more expensive, expect 2000-6000 Island wide....you can always get more expensive! sometimes cheaper.

Generally it is fairly cheap (around $50+ a night), clean*, has bed, tv, bathroom, AC as a min. Some places have pretty neat creative/fancy setups.
