Only spent one night here but our room had a beautiful view of the Love River. The room was clean and had everything you'd need - tv, fridge, slippers, etc but the bed was Japanese style - very hard. That's my only complaint.
Breakfast buffet had a lot of American choices as well as more traditional Taiwanese selections.
I'm not sure what the price is as I didn't pay it, we were guests of a Taiwanese group.
Stayed at the hotel for months with work. You would think with long term guests you would get better service but no. Staff seemed to do everything to be unhelpful to us.
Also as of 2005 they have renovated the pool. Now it is useless as a pool and is more a centrepiece fountain to the cafe area that surrounds it. They even took down the walls surrounding the pool so that you are on show to half of the city as you try and use it! Pool is also tiny!
Breakfast has made numerous people sick, Sausages mainly to blame as they are constantly undercooked.
Only nice people are the bellboys.
If you plan to stay anytime around lantern festival DONT the whole area is a mess at this time
Ambassador Hotel Kaohsiung is the best hotel with the best view in the city. It's located at beautiful Love River. You open your window and can see the river nearby and harbour in distance.
Ambassador provides standard nice breakfast, swimming pool, sauna room, spa service, internet room ( < 30min gratis) etc.
