Any Kaoshiung chinese website or forum to intro?

by sillyger

I'm planning to travel to Kaoshiung 20-26Mar, would like to read up some locals recommend places to visit to eat.

Due to the weather changes, I'm not sure if I'm expecting rainy season in Taiwan during March. As I thought of staying in Minsu, I hope to tour around in Pingtung and Kenting. Hope to read up more as it might be a solo trip or two ladies trip

Thanks

Due to extreme climatic changes the World is experiencing at the moment, trying to predict the weather can be difficult because of local, on the day variations.
Most places now are seeing weather conditions well outside the norm.
The information below should be used as a guide only.

Here is the average weather for Kao-hsiung for this time of year.
Enjoy your holiday.

March.
High 79f / 26c
Low 61f / 16c
Rain 2.40in / 60.0mm
Rain days 8
Hours of sun 5
Daylight hours 12
UV level 11 = Extreme
Humidity = Low
Sea temp 74f / 24c

Looks perfect.

Travel Tips for Kaohsiung

Starring

by judyintaiwan

Some of my foreigners would tell me that they felt that people were starred at them while they're here, not only in Kaohsiung.

Well someone might feels uncomfortable when you figure out that there're tons of eyes starring at you, but just take it as a compliment :), we stare mostly because you look pretty/cute/handsome/nice.

So how's that feel? I know it's annoying to be starred but i guess tons of people here are just curious of people from different countries. So next time put on your sun glasses or simply give a smile! (i guess you'll then find some residents smile you back (with a shy face or some giggle..?))

Rock Formations

by keeweechic

Chuanfanshr, otherwise known as 'Sail Rock' is just off the southern coast. The rock is actually a piece of coral reef rock which broke off the tableland. It was given the name because from a distance the rock looks like an open sail. Some however have said that from a certain angle, the rock looks like the former President Richard Nixon.

Liouhe Night Market

by IreneMcKay

To get to this night market take the metro to Formosa Boulevard Station and follow the exits for the night market. Don't forget to have a look at the Dome of Light on your way out of the metro.

The night market has lots of stalls and several places to buy foods. Several tour groups passed through on our visit. There is a second night market nearby plus a street specializing in wedding cakes and another specializing in wedding dresses nearby. Quite an interesting area. Worth a look.
