Muddy Volcano
by kenmerk
Like most of Taiwan, Kaohsiung county has its share of geothermal activity... Including the so-called "muddy volcano" which is maybe 25 Kms north of the city...
Strange place, you can here the ground gurgling below you and see the hot mud oozing out of the ground in several spots....
The Confucius temple
by stamporama
As you go farther north of the Lotus Pond, you'll come across the temple to Confucius. Though he was a philosopher and teacher, devotees revere him like a god. However, no image nor statue of him can be seen inside this structure.
The layout of the temple complex is reminiscent of Beijing's Forbidden City, where the central building is in the middle of a square courtyard with rows of smaller rooms on all sides.
The Heavy-Industry City

"The landscape, at Love-River"
The pride of Koahsiung city. In my childhood Love River was famous for dirt and bad smell. Since a decade ago the city has changed its looking.
The landscape at Love-River is modern. It's a good idea to take a walk along it and sit down to have a cup of coffee. At night it's extra romantic, especially for lovers.
"Koahsiung Port"
Koahisung port was once one of the 6 busiest international port in the world.
My family and I were in a sea-restaurant at the port. Every dish costs 100NTD only. (good offer & nice taste) After the meal, we walked on the top and I left the picture. How great the port it's behind me!!!
