Need some advices....

by kitiarat

Hi everyone

Will be travelling to Kaohsiung this coming April. What’s the weather like in around April? How about the nightlife? Is it safe to go around?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Kaoshiung is in the South of Taiwan therefore it is warmer than Taipei most of the time. AprilTempcould be 20~26C but it is best to check a week before you leave.
Majority of the cites are pretty safe in Taiwan if a woman is travelling alone, just take the necessary precautions as you do at home.

plan on warm weather for the most part. s
The only special danger is traffic, especially scooters.
If you are hit by a vehilce do not expect them to stop or help, the only requirement seems to be for the drive to say "I'm sorry" and be on their way.
My wife was hit by a scooter and a car in the same day.

Eternal Spring Shrine

by keeweechic

Eternal Spring Shrine (a short hike from the highway) commemorates the workers who died in building the Central Cross Island Highway. Above the shrine, there is a traditional style bell and drum towers. The bell is rung to welcome the morning, and the drumbeat farewells to the setting sun. A waterfall passing through the pavilion.

Maulin Forest Recreation Area (ZªL´ËªL¹C¼Ö°Ï)

by sunnywong

Maulin was once called Dwona where most residents are Lukai tribesmen. The slate houses in which the Lukai tribesmen live are the most attraction here. The streams go around among rows of mountain ridges, so there are many beautiful valleys and waterfalls forming there. The more famous landscapes are Maulin Valley Waterfall, Lover Valley Waterfall, Eagle Valley, Maiya Valley Waterfall, Dwona Waterfall, Lungtoushan and so on. The good place for camping is in the sandbar of the valley, but be careful about the rush stream water and the hidden water current when stay here.

Well, Khao Hsiung! The second largest city on the Isle of Taiwan. I have been here twice, once in juli and august and once in Januari. The difference is not so big though because of the geographic location. Kao Hsiung is a real metropolitan. You don't come here for the peace and quiet. There are lots of things to do and for everybody there are things to see.
