Taipei Garden Hotel: Taipei Garden Hotel

by Spookysg

Not too bad a hotel, other then no free internet access for the room.
The Italian food place is so so only for their buffet which is going at NT500 per pax

Walking distance to Xi Men Ding and there is a street just behind the hotel that you can get some food in the morning if you don't like the hotel's

Price was a little high as they claimed is during their peak, Cost me about US$200 per night

Kyoto spring (Jin Du): Hot spring hotel

by jackiesg

We rented an hr of hotel room in this Kyoto spring hotel to experience the Xin Beitou hot spring bath. We had the cheapest package ($540 TWD) they have which includeed one hour room stay in a room with no bed, just a living room with TV, a table and a bathroom. As the objective for most people was to experience the bath rather than to sleep in the room, the bathroom was designed to be quite spacious. The bathroom was clean and the bathtub was designed to sit two persons.

We enjoyed our hot spring bath and find it quite worthwhile as compared to prices offered by other hotels we've asked.

King National Hotel: Budget hotel in Ximengding

by jackiesg

I would recommend this hotel only if you're on a budget but you want to stay in XMD and really don't mind just having basic necessities met. The room I stayed is comfortably small, with TV, hair dryer, queen size bed, open wardrobe and a simple washroom. No fridge, no safe box. The room furnishing is old but definitely clean and neat.

The hotel staffs are friendly and there is a computer terminal where you can surf net. No other facilities like swimming pool, bars, etc. Bare minimal.

Overall, I had a comfortable stay in this hotel, partly bcos of it's location and bcos the bed was comfortable. Oh yes, bcos it's cheap too.

Good location, at XMD. Hence, easily accessible to many famous eateries and near MRT.

Price is the lowest I can find in XMD so far. We had the room $1,000 Taiwan dollar per day.

Chientan Overseas Youth Activity Center: Taipei best Youth hostel

by efoo

It's a wonderful youth hostel. Rooms range from 6 a room to Twin room all at affordable prices. Nearby Shilin night market, walking distance to train station. Room very well kept. Recommended by a friend who studied in Taiwan. Towels and breakfast provided for twin/double rooms. facetowels provided for all rooms.

Great for big groups or alone. Room and amenities like a 3 star hotel. Wireless connection and each lobby with no extra charges.

Paradise Hotel: A place to rest

by atease

The journery from the C.K.S International Airport was about 40 mins. When I checked in, the staff informed me on some of the tour package which is available. He also informed me on how to get to the Metro Station before i asked. The service was good and I think they are quite poilte.
When i are being informed where is my hotel room, i took the lift up. It is quite difficult to find my hotel room. as there are many corners to turn. Finally I had found my hotel room at the end corner. It was beside a somewhat like a staff lift to me. I went in the room, and was impressed by the room size. It was quite big for two person. I had taken a few photos on the room and most importantly, toilet. They don't have a bath tub but all the necessary items was available. There were some dirty stains on the toilet wall which I personally doesn't mind. The room also have 2 extra mattress and 1 extra pillow. Basically everything in the room was okay for me. For some people who need to charge their battery for their Hp or camera, you can request a three pin plus from the lobby counter. They will gave it to you but you will need to have a NTD100 for a deposite. This will be return to you when you return the plug to them.
It only have a little problem which is when you connect the charger to the plug, it is very loose...
Overall for my stay, the feeling for me is all right. The attitude and service from the hotel are good. If next time this hotel is my choice again, I will select the 'Renovated' room for a try.

Personally, I think that there is not much outstanding characteristics of this accommodation.
But there was just two problems:
The 1st problem
The ceiling was too low. This is maybe because i was staying @ the 'standard' room instead of the 'renovated' room, i don't know. But because of the low ceiling, it made me feel somewhat pressure... It was not a big deal if you are considering the hotel room as only a place to stay for awhile.
The 2nd problem
I supposed there were quite alot of tourist in Taipei. There were a few tourist staying in different rooms and i still remember clearly. The time was about 12am plus and the people outside was like walking around and knocking on each other door and talking very loudly along the corridor. It can be heard clearly from my room which was so disturbing and i couldn't sleep. I think this is very unbearable because, for me the hotel room was to get some rest at night. In this case, I couldn't get some sleep and how can i able to enjoy the rest of the days staying in the hotel.

Royal Castle Hotel: Comfe Hotel

To tell the true, this 3* hotel is small but comfortable and cozy. The receptionists are friendly and provide good services.

The breakfast that they serve was not international breakfast but the local Chinese food. It’s quite different from the other hotel. It’s delicious.

For the 3 person in a room, I paid about S$120 per night.

The Riviera Hotel: The Best

by wathy

Booked this hotel online from a travel booking site in Japan (taipeinavi.com) It was12700yen with breakfast. Thumbup for Riviera Hotel. I had stayed several times in Taipei for business trip and found Riviera is the best one. Sure will stay in here for future trip.

The breakfast was great. They have Western, Chinese and Japanese style for the breakfast so you won't get boring if you have long stay in Taipei.
Room was big and clean. All you would need were prepared in the room. Quite surprised they even have the iron and iron table in the room.

Far Eastern Hotel: Far Eastern

by SOHOLiving

Service was friendly, but the facilities are a bit over rated for the price paid. Had cockroach in my room one day.

Rainbow Hotel: Rainbow in the City

by wandering_wing

Being lazy, i chose this 3 * hotel that is near the Ximenting station and a central location with shopping, eating and entertainment.

During most weekends, there will be mini-concerts or autograph sessions of taiwanese pop stars.

there is a nice 24-hr dim sum restaurant near-by.
