Travel Tips for Taipei

by kenmerk

When hunting the spicy girls... (la-la-mei) or some western food, look no further than Hsimending, which is the section of Taipei where the young and trendy tend to congregage.

Located one subway stop away from the main Taipei train station on the Panchiao line....

Visit Yangmingshan at Night

by lhe

Yangmingshan is not just for day time visit! At night it is actually quite a popular destination for those who have their own transportation. Most are visiting the restraurants (there are lots of them!) for a nice dinner there. Or go to one of the hot spring hotels in the mountain. You can also just go there for a view of the Taipei city at night.

KISS: With the girls from Cali...
Where else can you see men doing the 'choo choo' all night long!

A very large club with two different rooms for music selection. The main floor has a stage. In the summer of 98, the wanna-be backstreet boys were was HILARIOUS watching the Taiwanese locals try and imitate their moves...well worth the trip! We would hit Kiss on Wednesdays (Ladies Night) or Fridays... And the BEST was finding a BMW taxi cab with DVD system waiting for you outside...only in TAIPEI baby! Not strictly enforced.

From CKS airport

by ngcsc

As you arrived in CKS airport, there are 2 types of public transport going to Taipei (half - 1 hour from CKS airport) by Taxi or Bus.

The cheapest way to arrive in Taipei city is taking a bus. There are several buses going downtown in different prices, direction and quality, but generally they are not bad. The cheapers bus company is Airbus, NT100 to the Taipei station area and major hotels.

Once arrived in the arrival hall, turn to the left.... there are some ticket counters there for various companies. Check the location and decide the choice. The buses are very frequent as you never need to wait more than 15 minutes.

The Taiwanese Breakfast

by ngcsc about Breakfast Shop

Wherever you go in Taiwan, this is one of the most popular shops for breakfast.

The breakfast shop in Taiwan mainly serve the western breakfast (wierd theory), sanwiches, burger.... but this is a very normal breakfast for Taiwanese, especially among students and white colars.

Some of the breakfast shop allow dining-in and some just provide take away service.... this might be the reason busy life in Taiwan... keep the breakfast simple, easy and fast. Dan Ping ( Egg pancake). This is the most Taiwanese breakfast found in the breakfast shop.

Dan Ping can be plain or come with some stuffy such as bacon (again it is western), ham, egg, chicken fross... etc....
