hi all,
so i know the usd to the twd is 1 to 30.2113, but what does that mean in terms of value? i don't know how many twd can get me a piece of street meat. can anyone give me a more practical explanation? i've never been, so i don't know what 30.2113 means in terms of what i can get for a dollar. thanks!

This actually applies more to the driver of your airport transfers and your porter at the hotel.
Restaurants nowadays implement a service charge, so there isn't a need to tip the waiter and waitresses, but you'll do get a better service the second time you visit the place if you have tip them.

MRT is new way to get around Taipei. You can buy an Easycard(NTD 500/ 1000) during your stay in Taipei. It can take you to downtown, also the urban area. You even can do shopping in main line of MRT.
People often talk about the big deep fried chicken cutlet in taiwan. This is one of the most popular street food in taipei. Do give it a try when in taipei. You can find it almost everywhere in taipei. The best chicken cutlet i have tried so far should be the one in shilin night market. Look out for the stall with the blue signboard and a long queue infront of the stall.
