CKS AIRPORT HOTEL. Can't say...

CKS AIRPORT HOTEL. Can't say it was my favorite or my choice. It was the Transit Hotel provided free by China Air since we had to over night there. 5 minutes by free hotel shuttle. Clean, nice, sterile.. but hey, it's an airport hotel. BRING YOUR OWN HARRY POTTER.
Didn't pay. Wouldn't pay more than $60 a nite, personally. Am only slightly curious what rack rate is. Massive scarfateria style buffet breakfast. If you like deep fried cuttlefish, pork stuffed bao (manapua) & french fries along w/ your french toast and scrambled eggs and bacon, you will like their breakfast selections. OH>.. and the mattresses are the firmest things since particle board. Rather disconcerting. Shows how tired we were. Didn't bbitch too much!

Hello I am having alot of trouble trying to book a room at the above hotel. I will only need to stay there one night as i arrive at 12 at night 22/9/06 i just wanted something near the airport. Are there any other hotels near the airport i tried the evergreen but i cant stay there due to singapore airlines. Or does anyone no how i can contact the cks airport hotel there web site seems to be down at the moment. Thanks in advanced Mick

As far as I know , the CKS airport Hotel is closed. This is a Business Hotel(Motel ) Near by the airport in Taoyuan, you can write to them in English, I think this is their new website and the English pages are not up yet.

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good hotel near the airport (TPE)? I have a 12 hour layover between connecting flights and need a room (about $100-$150 USD) not too far from the airport.

Novotel Hotel to Shi Lin Night Market

What's the best way to get from the Novotel Taipei Airport Hotel (5 minutes from the Taoyuan airport)to the Shi Lin Night market. I'm arriving at around 5 pm and leaving Taipei the next morning. I know there are several buses, subway or high speed rail but is there a station within walking distance to the hotel or do I need to get a taxi to a station?

Hi
The Novotel is in Taoyuan not Taipei.
To get to town, check into the Hotel and use their shuttle back to the Airport.
Then take KuoKuang bus to the Yuanshan MRT Stop (NTD125). Then the MRT - one stop to Jiantan from there (NTD20).
To get back to the Airport, Take the MRT to Taipei Main Styation, Then walk outside th Front entrance to the Bus terminal for bus back to the Airport. last bus about 11.30 (Please check once you are here)

A cab ride to town is not worth it as it costs NTD1,200/-
also best timer to get into Shihlin is after 6.30pm

When in Taiwan the best place to shop for electronics or computer type stuff is the Guanghua market. Here you will find most anything and everything available in country and at the lowest prices anywhere in Taiwan.
Prices aren't set, so haggling is a must. Many, many shops here so easy to play one store off the other...
Located a bit north of Jungshiau Road near the interesection of Bateh and Shinsheng roads...

From Asia, most of the major airlines fly direct to Taipei and fleets include both Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airline and the local carrier EVA Air. In fact, it seems that LUFTHANSA plans to resume operations back again to Taipei which means a boost to economy.
Tix prices depends on availability of special rates as mine was on SQ.

This is a bun looking with meat and vege ingredient inside, and baked in the traditional owen in night market, you can imagine how many people queqe up for this. We been waiting for almost half an hour to get the freshly baked bun.. its taste good, juicy inside..
