NT$600/per night, and it takes 8 minutes from MRT Jiantan/Shilin Night Market to this guest house.

cause that one is better then YMCA, in my opion. you can have a look and consider about that.

In the evening, many visitors...

by AndreasK

In the evening, many visitors to Danshuei gather at the ferry pier or the riverside park to await the sunset over the Danshuei River. The silhouette of the ferry against the backdrop of an orange sky, glittering water, and Mt.Guanyin is truly a scene of beauty. On the riverbank outside Hungmaucheng are a park, coffee shops, and seafood restaurants where visitors can enjoy a quiet rest or have a meal while enjoying the river scenery.

In this place people can chose whether to dine a meal or jsut have some snacks and get something to drink!
They have cosy sofa with lovely atmosphere, every time I go there, I enjoy the place a lot.
But it may be annoying for those who doesn't smoke, due to lack of saparation for smoking or non-smoking area.
Their restaurant close at am1:00; and they close at am2:00 during the week.
Enjoy your night!! I think smart casul is required, at least wear aomething nice!! Not to make yourself look sloppy is important, because everyone there looks great!!

Finding food in Taipei

by Mr.Sparkle

Surprisingly it wasn’t too hard to find delicious and interesting food that seemed safe enough. I ate at this one place where there was a solid metal grill in front of you and they fry up the food in front of you while you wait. Ate some kind of grilled cabbage, chicken with vegetables, pork with vegetables and rice. It was cool cause they throw down a square of aluminum foil at the edge of the grill near your plate and they put the food on top of that so it keeps warm and doesn’t burn. Found some great Chinese restaurants, mostly Cantonese style, which is close to what you find in the states. Ate lots of dumplings, still think they taste better in Japan! Also ate at a Chilies and TGIF. Oh, it was so good to eat western food.

Stewed meat rice and herbal pork rib soup

by MizBlack

If you are in the mood for some rice and soup, try the herbal pork rib soup and the stew meat rice. Pronounced as "Lu Rou Fan", the stewed meat rice is basically a bowl of moist rice topped with stewed meat and gravy. Stewed meat rice are often served in small portions thus, don't expect to fill your stomach with it. The herbal pork rib soup resembles the "bat kut teh" in singapore except that you get more bones than meat. The soup is basically made by boiling the pork ribs in herbs for long hours and thus emitting a strong herbal smell.
