Yehliu Scenic Area
by mim95
The unusual rock formations from erosion created this beautiful scenic park, located near Keelung.
The most famous rock is the Queen's Head. Currently, there's a debate on whether to preserve it from falling with chemical as erosion continues to make her neck smaller. Some estimate that the Head will fall in about 20 years without any preservation - so go see it while it's still there.
You can take a long distance bus from Taipei to Yehliu, or from Keelung. Details on website below.

Taipei is about one hour away...

Taipei is about one hour away from the airport. I went to Taipei on a rented car and back to the airport on a friend's car. It took about the same time. Taipei can be reached by limousine bus, if you do not use car.
What to eat.........
by THLIN about Las Vegas...
It is a fancy chain restaurant. Most of its branches are in Taipei.
Here you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal. What they offer more is seafood, ranging from Japanese sushi to Taiwanese dishes, Chinese dim sum, western cake, steak, salad, Japanese dessert, and Hogean Das ice cream. Also you can ask chef to make newly frilled calamari or steak.
Besides salad, they have traditional Taiwanese fried vegetable, I believe you can smooth your stomach after too much meat... :-)
They also have alcoholic dirinks, herbal tea, soft drinks, beer, fresh juice and so on. I like their dim sum and alcolholic drink. Their dim sum is quite authentic; and I can make whiskey-and-water, which is one of my favorite.
But as a rule of thumb, I don't suggest diners drink too much beer there. Their Japanese sushi and dessert are very nice and very fresh. So don't worry about anything, open your mouth and gobble......
Their cake is not too bad, but just try a few pieces and I think it should be enough.
