East Dragon is a good place to be if you want to stay around Xi Men Ding area. The hotel is located across the ximen walker area, so you have easy access but don't have to deal with the buzz. The charm lies on the warmth of the receptionists, they are so helpful. Although they would prefer to communicate in Mandarin, they know Hokkien/MinNan and a little English.

Clean and spacious rooms too. Pillows and sheets were crisp.
For those traveling light - They provide Hygiene products in bathroom / slippers, hairdryer in room.

They offer free WIFI but we asked for LAN cable since it was a bit slow.

Unique Quality: NOTE: To those with limited chinese. pls make sure you have the chinese name and address of the hotel you will be staying. This will help you board the correct bus at the airport.

From Taoyuan International Airport, you can board a bus that drops you off straight at East Dragon entrance for about 140NTD. You DON'T NEED to go to Taipei Main and transfer to Ximen MRT.

Breakfast is nothing to rave about. They serve plated per person. (2 eggs, slice of ham, bread, orange juice, coffe/tea). If you prefer to eat breakfast here. Get up a bit earlier for it. A lot of the guest have to queue for a table. Also they may ask you to share a table with other guests due to small space.

Plus points for me, who drinks water like a camel, is the water dispenser they have available on each floor for the hotel guests. This is aside from the 2 water bottles they provide daily per room. It has cold/warm/hot as preference for drinking and late night ramen snacking....

My Ximending 2nd choice hotel

Though I did not stay here but we visited the hotel while we were in Taipei this year...

Unique Quality: A very convenient hotel... 4 minutes walk to the sub-way station... No worry for your meals... Shopping area...

Cheap and Clean Hotel

The room is clean and tidy. The location is convenience and the room rate is good. Many local food store near the hotel, you can take it away and enjoy the meal/ steak in the hotel.

Unique Quality: No facilities as it is only a three star hotel. And the breakfast is not good. You are recommend to have your breakfast outside and don't waste your qouta :)

Best 3 star Hotel I ever stayed in

East Dragon Hotel is a 3 star hotel in Taiwan, Taipei.

Great for its location juz 30 seconds away from the busy Xi Meng Ting.

Recently the hotel's level 2 had being renovated and it's finishing is very Zen look and its pretty good size for 2.

They have rooms for 3, 4 or 6 paxs that can bed in anytime.

East Dragon do not require much publicities simpily becoz they are pretty popular among the regulars. I personnally have seen afew familiar guest coming n staying the same hotel on few occassions. Breakfast is always the same, but i never got tired of it coz its provides me the regular all time favourite..fried eggs, ham, buttered buns, coffee and orange juices.

Remember everyday breakfast is the same...

East Dragon Hotel

Hi,

I have not really seen many reviews on East Dragon Hotel even though it is located at a very convenient place too in XMT.

I have reserved a triple room in this hotel (Did some research and it seems that this is the only hotel in XMT that provides triple room at a reasonable rate and the additional bed is not the foldable type).

Can someone who has stayed in this hotel provides some reviews on it, i.e. is the hotel clean, are the rooms big,etc? And does the Freego bus stops in front of this Hotel from CKS Airport? How do I take the Freego bus from CKS Airport to this hotel?

Hi,
Freego has a regular stop at East Dragon. Actually people from Rainbow have to go there to get picked up when going to the Airport. Fare is NTD140 per head.
Nice Hotel , location excellent, Service good, rooms renovated about a year or so ago. No worries about your booking into that hotel.

Just go to the Bus ticketing counters inside the arrival Hall (After you clear customs) to get your Tickets. Many bus companies have booths there.
