English schools
by deeper_blue
Everywhere you go in Taipei you will see cram schools, every day after state school, huge numbers of children are sent to the English language centres. Childrens workloads are quite heavy in Taiwan but many love to speak English here.
Tao-Yuan valley
by kiely
A couple of weekend ago we went hiking here in Tao-yuan valley. It wasn't a easy hike for people like me who Doesn't do hiking as much. ( Felt like I climbed thousands of steps to reach half way of the mountain.) I almost gave up when we finished the steps. I'm glad I didn't though, coz when we finally reach the top. The view were so worth it. Air was fresh and view was awesome.
It's located in Shuang-Si, the north-east of Taiwan.
Taipei's MRT
by Edy8
Taking MRT is easy, economical and fast. But signs to the Station are hard to locate. This problem is solved by the friendly locals who would direct you to the station without any hesitation. There are, at this juncture three main lines, red, blue and orange. All goes to Taipei Main Station which is the location for two large underground shopping centres.
Places of interest eg, Dr Sun Yat-sun's Memorial, CKS Memorial, Lung Shan Temple, Fisherman Wharf, Danshui, Shilin Night Market, Hsimenting Night Market, Taipei 101 (NYNY), Museum of World Religions, Living Mall could be accessed via MRT with shuttle buses some of which are for gratis.
Very nice soup noodles
by Yijie about Goose Flat
This two-storeys high shop serves goose meat, with a choice of either rice noodles or yellow noodles. It is the soup that gives a punch. The soup is rich in flavours and makes you wanna have a second serving. The price is fair too although it is famous in Hsimenting.
Peri Peri--Spicy!!!!!!
by THLIN about Chuan Guo
I really enjoy spicy hot pot in Taipei. This dish was originated in Si Chuan, but now it's well-localised and becomes one of the very best dish in Taiwan. In most of hot pot resaturants, cutomers has a lot of choices between SPICY, CURRY, Vegetarian, tomato soup, plain, or even herbal flavour. In this pic, there are curry, spicy and plain flvours.
This places is more suitable for a gruop of people due to its atmosphere. Now most of spicy hot pot restaurants in Taipei has become buffet type. They serve meat, vegetables, noodle, salad, ice cream, ice kachong. But their drinks are very expensive. In Chuan Gou, I love their green tea and sweat patato ice kachong. Normally I eat this with condensed milk and red beans. And I like their spicy and curry hot pots.
