More about Miramar Garden Taipei

Nice food :-)

by yatingchen about Miramar Garden Taipei

Miramar Garden Taipei is a new open hotel. The restaurant is well-decorated. The style is western combinded with South-Eastern Asian. In busy Taipei it's unbelievable that there is such kind a silent place for relax. Starter: Shellfish salad and bread
Staple: cheese pork with baked potato, pepper and mushrooms.
Dessert: chocolade cake

The bread is baked with rosemary, smells very good and watering with oliver oil is especially super.
Shellfish salad, the material is fresh which I highly recommend.
Pork is well cooked as well, but it's a bit salty. (my colleagues found the fish dish nice, too)
Chocolade cake is very tasty. Its taste is thick and strong what girls like.

Danshui
Shilin NM

Day 3 Monday:
LongShan Temple
Taipei 101
Miramar Shopping Mall
Book Street
Wufenpu

Day 4 Tuesday:
Wulai - Wulai Falls
Jiufen
Raohe NM

Day 5 Wednesday:

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Day 1- Fine : Suggestion: Since you will be around Ximenting on Sunday, You can go to Jiantan MRT from Ximen MRT, At Jiantan, Exit Right side, to Shuttle bus stop to Miramar. You can finish that first as it is out of the way and After Miramar, Take the shuttle back to Jiantan MRT and see a bit of Shihlin NM first before returning to Hotel by 11.45 (MRT to Ximen)

Day 2: Sunday being a happening day,It would be best to spend time in Ximenting if you want ,as they have autograph signing and performers there. Then head for Peitou > Danshui....More Shihlin .

Day 3: Longshan Temple> Book Street> Miramar> 101 > Wufenpu > Raohe St(Same area- opposite side of the Railway Station.)

Day 4: Wulai > Jiufen > Keelung >Taipei.
Day 5: National Palace Museum.

Note:
Sun Moon Lake: It can be done in a day, BUT, They require at least 4 people to make the tour. One forumer did not make it as there was no one touring that day.
You can save this for your next trip.

Ciao for now

My friends insist on going to Sun Moon Lake. Phew. After looking at your reply, I had changed my itinerary. However, would need help with the question below.

Day 1 Thursday: Check in Ximen Hotel at 6-7pm
Shihin NM

Day 2 Friday:
Beitou(probably just sightseeing) and Hot Spring
Danshui
Shilin NM

Day 3 Saturday:
Take Train to Taichung Station --> Sun Moon Lake
Taipei (Any place to suggest?)

Day 4 Sunday:
Ximenting
LongShan Temple
Bookstore Street (Is it from XMD Circle and straight down Hengyang Rd?)
Miramar
Taipei 101
Wufenpu
Raohe Street (Nightmarket there?)

Day 4 Monday:
Wulai - Wulai Falls (Need directions on how to go there)
Jiufen (How to go there?)
Keelung
Taipei

Day 5 Wednesday:
National Palace Museum
BACK TO SINGAPORE!

Thanks, nuttyazn! :)

Travel Tips for Taipei

Audience Participation

by keeweechic

Aboriginal Show is performed at the Cultural Centre. It is a show of very colourful singing and dancing. There wasn't a lot in the audience the day I was there, probably because of the weather, but some were invited up to participate.

Location : Wulai Cultural Centre, Taipei County

MRT to main spots

by bafgkm

1. Pick up a metro map inside every station at the info window.

2. Think over if you need a one-day ticket(costs Nt.150.-)

3. Find your destination

4. At last, choose your favorite station!

I have a favorite mrt station shown on this photo, do you know which station is it? ;-)

Trendy and chillout place

by frankhesse about Wind

It is one of my favourite restaurants in Taipei. The food is good and a little pricey compared to food courts but the atmosphere is great. The Deco is very modern - low lighting and great selection of chill-out music in the background. It is not too big and not too busy so the usual "eat quickly" of Taipei does not apply here.
It is also close to the famous champagne bars in Taipei if you feel like some bubbly after dinner
dinner It's chiness fusion cuisine - I love the fish there.

Mix of Hotplate selection

by dmirebella about Ai Hu Restaurant

One has a huge selection of side dishes apart from the standard of vegetables and broth. We opted for the seafood with 5 additional items picked and the servings are HUGE!! The seafood items include prawn, crabsticks, scallops, fish and fishballs but should alternatives be selected.. meat can be added on as additionals.
