Royal Hotel Taipei is located on Chung-Shan N. Road, one of the most beautiful streets in Taipei. It gathers some most famous hotels in Taipei such as Grand Formosa Regent (many big figures and stars took over nights there) and the Royal Hotel.
Royal Hotel is 5 stars and has received many ambassadors. its dining ambiance is luxurious beautiful. If you are frugal and want to enjoy it, just order a cup of coffee or tea, costs you only 120-170 NTD a day. Latte is always my favorite.

Hi! I'm going to taipei this coming thurs (i.e. 8 June) for a 6 days free and easy trip. I'll be attending the comtex exhibition. Could anyone kindly advise me which is the cost saving way from CKS airport to Rosemary hotel? (if by cab what is the estimated price). Also, I'm looking for Authentic & Original Hello Kitty products (if possible old vintage collection) where can I get a hand of it. Besides Hello Kitty, will appreciate if anyone advice me on the great iternary of Taipei. Also, I would like to find out whether do visitor have the priviledge to buy one-day MRT transport Card at a much reasonable price. I know USA and Hongkong do.
P.S. Have the Hello Kitty Museum been built to replace the Shin Kong Observation Deck yet?

You will enjoy the Computex, It is bigger and better this year. Free Bottled water generally at AMD and Many of the booths in Hall 2 :):):)So no need to buy.
Checkout the Tourist Info counter at the entrance of Hall One on your right side for free or discounted tours. Also they might give you a free coupon to go up 101 building.Do this after you register and have your badge.
There are Many Many Hello Kitty Shops here!!! Hello Kitty bakery and Hello Kitty KTV (Many forumers said -not worth the trip)
Rosemary Hotel: Your Nearest MRT Stop is the Zhongshan MRT .Your Hotel is in the lane with the Red Bus Logo D (Lane 105) Not too deep inside that lane.

For transport to town, Take the Airbus West to Grand Formosa Regent Hotel or Hotel Royal Taipei Stop and walk back to Lane 105, not too far and the weather is good. It will cost you NTD135/ (USD4/-)per head for a comfortable ride. Cabs are expensive and not worth it (abt USD35/-)
Within the city, you can visit all major tourist sites and night markets by the MRT:
You can purchase an Easy Card which can be used or both the MRT and Buses from the Info counter at the MRT Stations or any 7/11 convenience store - Costs NT500 (Incld the NT100 refundable deposit)

Note:
From outside Exit 3 at the Taipei City hall MRT, there is a free shuttle to the World Trade Center. for the Duration of the Computex from 9am onwards.
For your return from the WTC to Taipei City hall MRT, this shuttle is boarded from the Side Entrance of Hall 3 Not from the front entrance. These are for Hall to Hall shuttle. They are very frequent and free so save your energy.
The Tai Ya tribe is known for their delicate hand-made textile products. The colours are usually very vibrant with a red color which symbolises, which is important for keeping away the evil. The Tai Ya ( Ayakal) are also known for their custom of tattoing their faces.

Pick up a smart card from a vending machine in a MRT station, for i believe 500NT, no more worries about picking out the correct change or standing in line to buy your mrt ticket, just wipe it on the sensor and its deducted, it can be refilled just as easily by going to the same vending machines and entering as little as 100nt...

This is my favourite restaurant in Taipei. I love taking guests here (both local or from out of town). The food is above average but it's the ambience and the look of the place that gets me coming back. It's a 2 story house split in between by a little courtyard and a koi pond. On the left you have Herbs which serve the food. And on the right it's theVilla where you can chill out with some drinks and chat. There's a Dj there too. It's a really nice place but sometimes the service is funny- they've stuffef up my reservations 2 (out of 2) times... I always have the fish dishes, and I like it, but from what the others tell me, everything else is pretty much good too. Desserts are so so..
If you make it to Taipei, forget restraunts, you got those everywhere. One thing definetly worth doing is walking around in the night markets eating something from here and another there, the barbecue squid on a stick is amazing! Not fot the faint hearted but definetly try the snake soup, you have to eat it after you see the guy kill it and squeez all the blood out of it, really it tastes like chicken!
If you want to go sit down somewhere, i suggest you try one of the hot pot places. Quite different from the one i had in Beijing which was Mongolian (on my Beijing page) but just as tasty!
