My travel agent booked me for this hotel but what a great disappointment. 1. Paid for an overpriced 24 hour internet access, cannot open one page after 15 minutes, checked with front desk and they blamed my computer, then shut me out of the system in the last 12 hours that I had paid for (of course my computer works everywhere else in Taipei), 2. Went with my two kids so booked and paid for a big room for three person (added one extra bed in a large room), paid for the bed but did not get enough towels or toothbrush. 3. One wall socket by desk so either I have light or computer but not both. 4. Provided hot water boiler but dispense button broken so cannot pour out. 5. No safe in room. Although the staff is friendly, it cannot make up for the age and the lack of good facilities. It was a 4 or 5 star hotel but now even 2 star has more reliable amenities. Plus the place overflowing with tour group so you know the room is available at a great discount to the tour groups.
Unique Quality: staff is friendly but unfortunately cannot make up for the lack of quality in amenities provided. problem is that the hotel charge for a 5 star hotel service but do not even deliver 2 star hotel quality
For the price, this was an exceptional hotel. The service was excellent, and the facilities were breath-taking. Only one minor complaint, I wasn't impressed with the food at the restaruant or room service. However, if you go out the front door, turn right, go a few steps beyond the IKEA entrance, and there are stairs down to a food court and underground shopping area. Plenty of choices for a quick bite to eat.
