Memory
Personally , I've been here many times but somehow I just can't remember when and what I've done there . There is only once I remember it clearly and that's my graduation trip . I was in a big class with 754 other classmates for four years but guess you all know that most of the time , we get along with some kind of people who have the same or similar taste with you better . And I have too . We are a group of around 10 persons .
There was also a class graduation trip at that time but we 10 all , decided not going with the class and made our own one . We all had so much fun and have seen really a lot in the eastern Taiwan .
I really wish you all can have the chance to visit Taiwan , and as I said before , there is not only Taipei to see here in Taiwan , there are a lot of other places worth a visit .
Rocks
by kenmerk
Hualien is the rock capital of Taiwan... One of the main economic activites here is mining marble up in the mountains. This is bad for the mountains (you can easily see the scars from mining in some areas), but it also promotes marble sculpting in town. As such, there are a number of marble statues that can be found around town... some of which are quite good...
So if you like shopping for marble pieces or just looking at the sculptures, Hualien is the place for you...
Cisingtan Scenic Area and Beach
by DSwede
Cisingtan translates to "Seven Stars Pools". It is a vast, wide beach and scenic viewpoint for the cliffs and mountainous coast line around Hualien and Sincheng.
The beach has posted signs for no-swimming, but that should not detract from the visit. Many of the locals will come here for relaxing, having a picnic or simply escaping the busy city.
On the south end of this scenic area is a promenade with several WWII-era armory blockades and historical signs.
Cisingtan is north of Hualien on HW-9, just past the airport. After the airport, take a right and head down any of the small streets toward the coast line. It is not far from the Hualien Distillery or the Chihsing Tan Katsuo Museum.
Storyin Hualian

Heping Industrial Zone !
looks like the castle in Strange Tales from the Arabian nights .
Heping is a middle railway station ,
after I finish LOOKING AT PACIFIC OCEAN & CHINGSHUI CLIFF ON A BIG BUS,
I like to tranfer trains to Taipei at Heping railway station.
Mugua River Valley
by kenmerk
Beautiful River Valley that is very close to Hualien. This area was restricted until recently, but now it is easy to get a pass to enter.
Pass through the police check point just past Tongmen. This road continues along the river side to Long-jian, and then on towards Chilai mountain. The road get more narrow, curvy and scary, the further you head west. But, the mountain scenery up here is pristine and spectacular...
Directions: Head toward Liyu Lake from Hualien, after the long bridge make a right, and head west towards Tongmen.
Note: You must register and pay a small entrance fee at the police station to enter this area.
