The double room was paid for via the internet. Room was spacious with good facilities and a comfortable bed. Buffet breakfast was included and was quite good. Free transfers worked smoothly and wi-fi worked OK too.
The room has a picture window overlooking a car park to the mountains
Perfect location to dump your bags and go sightseeing. This is straight ahead of the railway station. You can see the hotel name plate from the station.
We reached there on a weekday after chinese new year. The hotel was practically empty. The check in time was 3pm , so we dumped our bags in the reception and went to the tourist centre and from there was directed to the Shuttle bus station .All these are around one big square. We came back in the night to sleep .We opted for a family room and it was very clean and was one with a perfect view ,you can see from the picture.Post holiday, they had given the kitchen staff a vacation so no breakfast, instead were given coupons to use in a nearby makeshift arrangement. We were provided with a very good semi continental breakfast. We checked out in the morning itself again dumped our bags in the reception. Very helpful reception staff. They don't speak english but makes it up with genuine helpfulness. I like taiwanese.
Very convenient location
Amigos is a decent location with friendly staff, a clean place with decent bathroom facilities.
Breakfast is downstairs in the main foyer, there are lots of photos on the wall and tours they can arrange. a nice atmosphere
My stay was short, but good enough. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spaceous. The bunks and furniture was recently updated.
They have typical communal kitchen area.
They have typical bunk style rooms with 4, 6 or 10 beds.
They provide bed linens and pillowcases

They will help coordinate any tours or day trips for you.
Also have book swap and movies, no Lock out or Curfew times, free tea and coffee, free WiFi.
We stayed here overnight on our trip to Toroko Gorge. I feel like an idiot for not knowing the name, so I apologize. We had such trouble finding a place to review online, so when we enjoyed our stay here, I took a business card and vowed to post it at virtual tourist.
Anyway, it is a house that has been converted to a B&B with 4 rooms (I think) that face the ocean. The owners speak very little English, but are very nice and try hard to accommodate. The place is very clean. It is not expensive either.
The view out of our window was excellent. Straight out into the Pacific.
They have a deck behind where we sat (after buying some wine in town) and drank in the evening, listening to the crash of the waves.
Just know that it isn't really a beach that you go lay on. There really are only two of those in all of Hualien.
There is no Hostelling International hostel in Hualien, but you can find some hostel close to the crowds.
my favorite one in Hualien city is Hualien Student Hostel , 5-10 minutes walk to the night market. 300?350?NTD per nigit/bed, it is the cheapest one.
Dorm bed : 300NTW --------student or pool people's rate : 255NTD :P
smell bad , not clean
Very nice Window View from dorm room 209 ... for the sea of clouds, Sunset, MoonRise, Moonlight...:)
We had a pleasant stay there while we were in Hua-Lian. People who work at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. We brought one of our cats there. And unfortunately pets are not allowed in the hotel room, so they took care of our cat in their pet section the whole time while we were there.
And the food at the hotel restaurant was AWESOME. It's not too expensive and it's definitely worthing having a meal there. -- That is one of the reasons that I wanna go back to Hui-lian soon.

~Qualities info provided by the hotel web page.~
I stayed at Bellevista Hotel just after the category 5 taiphoon Haitang rolled through Hualien in July 2005. The hotel is a 5 star hotel just south of Hualien, just up the hill from Hualien Ocean Park. You can get a shuttle bus from the train station to Bellevista Hotel. There are shuttles every half hour to Hualien Ocean Park.
The hotel is high on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool. Some rooms face the Pacific while the others have a good view of Hualien and the mountains. There is a decent dinner / breakfast buffet. There is also a Japanese restaurant, Chinese restaurant, and bar.
The ocean view rooms are good. All rooms also have marble flooring in the bathrooms which looks quite nice.
The night chat was totally unexpected. We sat close to each other listening the story hostess told us. She knows a lot about her tiny town Rei-Suei. She made her B&B more than normal B&B. They also serve supper.
They give us some souvenir which made the tirsome trip more suprising. Before-bed chat was really nice experience. The host know a lot about their home town, such as history, georaphy, and so on. They even provide you suggestion for your next trip.
Their B&B is built based on TRAIN. Each room has its own name. And they also provide bicycle for free. Just make your trip by bicycle.
