It is in Chinese: ocean front B&B

We stayed here overnight on our trip to Toroko Gorge. I feel like an idiot for not knowing the name, so I apologize. We had such trouble finding a place to review online, so when we enjoyed our stay here, I took a business card and vowed to post it at virtual tourist.
Anyway, it is a house that has been converted to a B&B with 4 rooms (I think) that face the ocean. The owners speak very little English, but are very nice and try hard to accommodate. The place is very clean. It is not expensive either.

Unique Quality: The view out of our window was excellent. Straight out into the Pacific.
They have a deck behind where we sat (after buying some wine in town) and drank in the evening, listening to the crash of the waves.
Just know that it isn't really a beach that you go lay on. There really are only two of those in all of Hualien.

Azure Hotel: Nice cozy hotel

We had a pleasant stay there while we were in Hua-Lian. People who work at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. We brought one of our cats there. And unfortunately pets are not allowed in the hotel room, so they took care of our cat in their pet section the whole time while we were there.
And the food at the hotel restaurant was AWESOME. It's not too expensive and it's definitely worthing having a meal there. -- That is one of the reasons that I wanna go back to Hui-lian soon.

Bellevista Hotel: Hualien Hotel

I stayed at Bellevista Hotel just after the category 5 taiphoon Haitang rolled through Hualien in July 2005. The hotel is a 5 star hotel just south of Hualien, just up the hill from Hualien Ocean Park. You can get a shuttle bus from the train station to Bellevista Hotel. There are shuttles every half hour to Hualien Ocean Park.

The hotel is high on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool. Some rooms face the Pacific while the others have a good view of Hualien and the mountains. There is a decent dinner / breakfast buffet. There is also a Japanese restaurant, Chinese restaurant, and bar.

Unique Quality: The ocean view rooms are good. All rooms also have marble flooring in the bathrooms which looks quite nice.

xin-ho-ka-ei house: home-like B&B

The night chat was totally unexpected. We sat close to each other listening the story hostess told us. She knows a lot about her tiny town Rei-Suei. She made her B&B more than normal B&B. They also serve supper.

Unique Quality: They give us some souvenir which made the tirsome trip more suprising. Before-bed chat was really nice experience. The host know a lot about their home town, such as history, georaphy, and so on. They even provide you suggestion for your next trip.
Their B&B is built based on TRAIN. Each room has its own name. And they also provide bicycle for free. Just make your trip by bicycle.
