Taroko National Park
by Burtty
We had many great walks in the National Taroko Park. We liked the walks on the Sakadang Trail and the old highway of the tunnel of nine turns very much. Our friends also like the stamps of the plants and the animals at the visitor center. They brought back a booklet with those stamping marks.

Chang-chen Ci (Shrine)
by THLIN
This shirne is here to memorize those who pass away when they built the East-West Cross-Island highway. The shrine itself has been re-built three times due to mudflows and landslides. Even until now, the Admin of National Park still strongly recommend tourists not walking outward of the road, small pieces of rock can still harn people.
There was an incident when I walked through the shrine. A Chinese grandma wanted me to help her with her picture. But she call our Liwu river "Jiang"(river) in Chinese, but it indeed is just a Xi(runlet). Although I tried to correct her, it was in vain. Ha ha
Chi Sing Tan Beach
by Burtty
Chi Sing Tan Beach is a beach full of the stones. Some might like to pick up some lovely stones on the beach. Because it is just besides the Hualien airport, you can see the waves of the sea and also the airplane flying over you.
Li Yu Lake
by Burtty
We heard that there were the fireflies at Li Yu Lake so we arrange to take a look at them. When we were there, we found that they had the free guided tour for the fireflies at the visitor center located at the north lake shore from Friday evening to Sunday evening between end of March and early of May. Thus we joined their tour. They led us walking along the road besides the visitor center. We saw many fireflies flying in the trees along the road. They were like the twinkling stars or the Xmas trees.
