The Beach House at Nanwan: Super relaxed
I was organising my trip to Kending and my Taiwanese friend Jeff in Shanghai says... "You can stay with cousin Joyce, she has a beach house, you can rent a room there." So that's how I found this place.
Good location, very relaxed. Cousin Joyce is lovely and the Kending playground is on the doorstep!
If you book a room, you might want to ask for a room with a window, the cheaper rooms don't have any. Beach House 1 is opposite South Bay Recreation Area entrance with a few small bars and restaurants, Beach House 2 is in a location down the road and quieter.
Relaxed and easy going.

Yoho Hotel: beach resort
nice resort hotel with numerous swimming pools, 3-4 restaurants and a nice beach. rooms are comfortable and roomy.

I don't really know it...: Lovely hostel
There are a lot of neat and beautiful hostels like this. These photo is took in Sail Rock. The price is above the average during holidays or weekends, it's around 80-110 US dollars, and the price could be cut off 30% during the week days. So now you know when is the best day to go.. if you want budget room, you still have many different choice, the price for two beds is aroun 30 US dollars during week days.
Ask the hostel hosts if they offer the room face to the sea. and also some hosts build balcony with chairs and tables for guests, which is really nice and relaxed.

Howard Beach Resort: Kenting's best hotel
The hotel was large, but friendly. Lots to do for the kids and adults.
There was an games arcade with loads of electronic games and fun for the children. The pool was fantastic. Best of all, the hotel has it's own entrance to the beach.

no worries when you are in Kenting
actually all motels go full during weekend, it's better to go there earlier to get the room. you can try your luck to see what kind of you room you get. last time my room was so so but pretty clean

Red Wood Scuba Motel
If your just here for diving, the Red Wood Scuba Inn is a good choice. Bunk beds are 400 NT, and they have all the facilities for compressed air and washing out dive equipment.
Also it right on the water, so you can do shore dives right off the front porch almost.
