ok, so i've never actaully stayed a night in this place but i've been there for lots of dinners, etc. and i lived close to it for a while, in my opinion, it is not the real tajikistan, no one can afford to pay the rediculious prices they charge, except some of the ngo workers, etc. lol. if you want to know the real tajikistan, save your self alot of money and find a host family to stay with, you'll be doing your self and them a favor.
umm, it's pretty flash for tajikistan, they have some good dinners, but it's not the real tajikistan, it's exclusive. lovely place, good service, internet connection n every room, nicely equipped conference hall, etc. there're plenty of other good hotels: Tajikistan, Poitaht, Avesta, Kayon, etc. you can also rent rooms in guest-houses or rent the whole one for the big team. It is 100% Soviet Style Hotel even USSR has gone more than 15 years before. I felt nostalgic impression when I checked in. Room is fully compatible with other former USSR hotels called Intourist hotels. As nostalgic sense, it is reasonable room design that all of necessary items are facilitated in while quality is a bit backdated. The hotel is located in the heart of Dushanbe and you can get to main shopping street in a few minute by foot. There is ZuM near by the hotel. At reception there is a sign that credit cards are acceptable while it is frequently happened authorization problem. So I paid in USD cash. It is USD50 per night including breakfast. Registration fee, it is equivalent to USD6, shall be paid at checkout in addition to your room charge. Here in Dushanbe, blackout was frequently happened in 2006; however, it has never happened to this hotel I heard.
