I got a new friend. They were a newly wed couple from Spain as we ended up in the same table at the lunch in the cruise. They spent there honeymoon in Thailand. Wish them luck though.. The Wat Phra Si Sanphet shouldn't be missed too! It was a royal palace was located from the establishments of the Ayuthaya period in the 13th century.
Thai Life in the river..
by yen_2
The tour guide told us that most of the Thai people love to live beside the river. And most of the land are very expensive because of the demand that most people love to stay there. If the river will go high tide most of those people that can't afford to put a bricks or a cement to prevent the tide will have their things damage. That's the most and common things that happened in the families living near the river. It's best to cruise along the river when you're in the country to experience the life most Thai people have! Most of the thai people living the river will give you a wave, and shouting "Sawasdee"! Isn't it great?
Local guys

There a few local guys hanging around the ruins looking for tourists.
Some of them would like to play as guides, others try to sell you something, etc. They do not insist that much and sometimes they just want to have a talk with you.
Canals of Ayuthaya
by DSwede
If you can find a boat and take a small tour of the canals around the area, you'll see interesting other local boats, some floating, others slowly decaying in the marsh lands. But you can also see some of the homes and farms from a closer angle.
0 - Wat Lokkayasutharam - 9
by xiquinho
This monastery is over a kilometre behind Wat Suanluangsopsawan adjacent to Wat Worachettharam. Accessible by the road inside the compound of the Distillery Plant, or through the road behind the Phlapphla Trimuk (three-gabled roof pavilion), It is in the area of the Acient Palace passing Wat Woraphot and Wat Worachettharam going to the site of the large reclining Buddha, made of brick and covered with plaster, approximately 29 metres long. Many large hexagonal pillar ruins near the image are believed to be the ruins of the Ubosot.
