Is it safe to be in Thailand

by rashmehr

Hi,
I love thailand and have been to this beautiful country many times. However this time I am coming with a few friends who are a bit nervous. I have booked Hotel Adelphi Grande Bangkok, 16 Sukhumvit Soi 41 is it far from the trouble area? Also what about other cities of Thailand like Hua Hin, Pattaya and Phuket.
Please be kind to advise me if we can go to other cities and it is completely safe and fun as always?
Regards
Rash

You might want to check out the map of the trouble spots here:

The Belgian government has advised AGAINST travelling to Bangkok at the moment.
There's no warning for the rest of the country.

Right now, am in Phuket. The political situation in Bangkok is only evident here by way of news on the television or by the lack of tourist here. Other than that, life is as normal, tourist spots are well opened, food is still great as ever and even accomodations are cheaper. It's protest free here as most locals do not agree with what is going on in Bangkok as it's hurting the tourism business. Just avoid Bangkok, and u should be quite alright.

Phuket and islands are best for you, BTS and MRT are not opperating at all and with 30 buildings on fire in that area including the stock exchange, i would think that this would be enough clues, dont you. 20th May
