All Seasons hotel

All Seasons Sathorn hotel is a budget hotel, but still a part of the Accor chain. The building looks dilapidated at first look, but the rooms are renovated. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean. However the hotel wasn't what I expected when I booked a room through the Accor website.

The breakfast buffet is good, but remember to ask if you like egg omelet or cafe/tea.

Unique Quality: You are dependent on a taxi or you must like to walk when you stay in this area because it's nothing to do or see here except from tall buildings. South Satorn Road has four lanes with heavy traffic. It's not possible to cross the road due to a concret divider. So you must walk down the road to find a walking bridge. Cross the walking bridge and you got 10 minutes walk to Silom Road and the Patpong area. Walking to the Cha Phraya River takes 30 minutes and walking to the BTS Skytrain takes 10-15 minutes.

All Seasons Sathorn Bangkok

Anyone have experience with the above accomodation?
Please let me know is it convenient for travelling - i.e. near Skytrain.
Is it walking distance to Suan Lum night bazaar - and how far?
Thanks!

Its on a busy main road, short walk to either of two skytrain stations, and 10-15 minute walk to Suan Lum - if it is still open when you arrive. Its is scheduled for closure under a court order as the lease expired more than a year ago.
The hotel is newly opened in a refurbished building and is fine.

All Seasons is in Sathorn Road, a 5 minute walk to 2 skytrain stations, 5 minutes by skytrain to the river pier where you can get the Chao Phrya Express boat to Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Chinatown etc etc. 15 minute walk to Lumpini Park and Suan Lum night bazaar, 10 minutes to Silom Road night market.
Other good boutique hotels are Triple Two Silom, La Residence.

I stayed at Baiyoke Sky when I went in Dec 07. It was a very good experience. We had booked a room in the space zone so we had our room on the 72nd floor. The room was absolutely stunning and we had many freebies since we had booked an expensive room. The night market is just outside of Baiyoke and the hotel in itself is a shopping centre for some floors. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. There are many shops very near the hotel as well. The wats are also not very far - but you will need a taxi to take you there.

I have given a detailed description on my travelpage. You can read it here

Last time I was in Bangkok I stayed in the Manhatten Hotel (Sukhumvit Soi 15) - definitely would NOT recommend it unless you like your cockroaches climbing the curtains, but on the corner of Soi 15 and Sukhumvit there was a really cool looking hotel just by the overpass. Does anyone know the name of it?

I suspect you might be referring to the S15 Hotel. Here's its website: http://www.s15hotel.com/

The Shianghai Inn is a lovely little boutique hotel in Chinatown, which is very central and close to train and river transport.
