Amari Watergate is one fo the leading 5 star hotels in Bangkok. The location is really great..very close to pratunam wholesale market & Central World (WTC) .
They have a grandous lobby with live Thai Music being played at ngiht. Free wifi connection at the lobby to those clients who are computer geek!
We tried almost 4 of their restaurants and its really great. Food, service and ambience are very nice.
Spacious room, clean linens and beddings, big bed, nice lighting, and very inviting bathroom :-)
It's in my favorite location, Pratunam. This hotel open in 1993, offer really large lobby, acess of the elevator for the the room only with the electronic key.Great room with large sofa and armchair. Beautiful bathroom with separate bath and shower. Wonderful pool even like many hotels in Bangkok it have a little bit cool wind, really nice garden complete the pool.
Perfect location in Pratunam next door of the bargain shoping. Good service
This is an excellent hotel!!! Best in Bangkok. Rooms are quite pricey but they are great. I don't know how much they are for 'normal tourists' because we have always got an airline staff discount. Rooms are big and well decorated. The bathroom is also great. Everything is clean and tidy which I personally think is the best quality of a hotel room. The hotel has several in-house restaurants but I haven't tried them.

Directions: 847 Petchaburi Road, Pratunam, Rajthevi Bangkok 10400. It's near the World Trade Center and Pantip Plaza in the core of the Pratunam business district.
While the exterior could do with a bit of cleaning, the interior is classy and elegant in design. Rooms are spacious and they have an environmentally friendly concept - you can choose not to launder your bed linen and help save water and reduce pollution caused by detergent water.
Swimming pool and spa is on the 8th storey, but too bad i didn't try them out. The staff is nice and obliging, especially when you need cabs to go to a certain location. Most help you alert the driver about your location, and that you want the meter on as well.
Drinking water is provided free of charge, but don't drink the mineral water on the bed side drawer because tat isn't free!!! The free water is in the bathroom!!! =)
Directions: Tell the cabbie its at Pratunam, cos there are many other Amari hotels nearby! It should cost about 220baht from bangkok international airport if there is no major jam.
It's also in a good location in terms of being near the shopping market, Baiyoke. For restaurants, they also have, but you need to walk a couple of minutes to get there.
Facilities are good and even their staff. I like their lobby.
amari watergate hotel is a 4star hotel with classy ambience and very good facilities. it has a topfloor swimming pool (9thfloor), spa and gym, thai resto, japanese resto and italian resto. it also has a jim thompson silk store at the lobby. The staff are very accommodating and speak good English. the complementary breakfast has international cuisine. the rooms are well-maintained and has good interiors...
the location is at the center of everything, walking distance to Big supermarket, Zen, Isetann, Central Chidlom, Fashion Mall and the very cheap Pratunam market, very easy to get a taxi
First things first, the service here is wonderful. And it has a really grand lobby and a fantastic gym. Rooms are very very spacious and not forgetting its nice decor too. The room's toilet is nice and big too, with a separate long bath and a showering area.

If you plan to go budget shopping, this is the place to be! Just step outside and you see rows and rows of clothes shops in the Pratunam Market. Most of the stuff are designer rip offs and you might chance upon a really good deal.
Now if you plan to spend a huge amount of moolah, then Gaysorn and World centre is just nearby. And right in front of Watergate, they're constructing the Platinum Mall. watch out for it.. It's gonna be the hottest place to see or be seen.
Oh, and for Filipino celebrity hunters... this is a good place to hobnob with them. Actually bumped into Lucio Tan (yes, the billionaire) and saw that this is where actress Cherie Gil took refuge after the tsunami.
Stayed in this hotel maybe more than 10 times for business travel... And if you are travelling on business, you'd be happy to note that WIFI internet is free in the lobby. But should you need your very own office/conference room, they rent the office for about 250 baht per half hour -- not a bad deal considering you get a phone, computer with all the peripherals and a decentplace to meet clients or associates. (and trust me, it's better to meet them in your own office than to have them in your room -- and see all your laundry!)
