The roof of Bangkok

We stayed in the the space zone of the hotel. This is the highest section of the hotel, and has a breathtaking view of the city. Our room was on the 72nd floor. The room itself was quite big and the service was very nice. Also when you book in the space zone of the hotel, a lot of things, like drinks at the sky bar and a foot-massage come bundled in the package.

The hotel also has a nice observation deck on the roof. And the Prathunam street market is right next to the hotel.

Unique Quality: Highest accomodation in south-east Asia.

Not the best but value for money

You could obviously see that this hotel was renovated from an old building, room is basic but value for money. Location wise, there's plenty of wholesale malls, shopping malls, night and day market for you to shop till you drop and within walking distance!

Unique Quality: Very beautiful and modern lobby and very near to shopping spots.

Tallest Building in Bangkok

I had read hundreds of reviews about the Baiyoke Sky and I was really happy with the choice I made. If you are a shopper then this is the place to stay - right in the heart of Pratunam and markets right outside the entrance.

The rooms were beautifully furnished and had spectacular views of the city. In the lobby there was a 24hr 711, a coffe shop, fruit buffet and restaurant. Breakfast was on the 78th floor and the assortment of food was mindblowing - Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Continental...

Housekeeping did an excellent job and they provided us with extra water every day. The beds were hard but they provided 2 pillows each, 1 hard and 1 soft so I slept well every night.

Unique Quality: Great views, excellent food, friendly staff

Greatest View in Bangkok

The Baiyoke Sky Hotel is one of the highest hotels in the world, and the resturant I think is on the 78 floor. I did 3 trips to Bangkok before I even new that there was the resturant and revolving lookout platform at the very top. With every other visit,it is one of the 1st things we do on arriving in Bangkok. It is well worth 2 trips up to the top..One in daylight, and one at night. The views are spectacular. Cost is 200 baht, but then you get a free drink to the value of 200baht in the topfloor pub.

The website of the hotel is on any of the "hotel' search pages.

Enjoy

Sky high living

Living in this hotel was one hell of an experience. We stayed in the space zone and had our room at the 72nd floor of the hotel. This was one huge room with an electronic safe, two single beds and a huge bathroom with a bath tub, dryer and a shower booth.

The room had huge glass windows and view from the room of the streets below was out of this world. The hotel in itself is quite an attraction. The rooftop bar at the 83rd floor and the revolving deck on the 84th floor are interesting and fun.

Unique Quality: The service and facilities of the hotel are great. We ate at the coffee shop and the food was very nice. The breakfast is also a huge and eclectic spread. The drinks at the rooftop bar were also good, although the live band was slightly loud and cheap for my taste. The view from the rooftop bar in the night is spectacular.

The hotel is a shopping complex, hence other than evenings, the corridors are quite crowded.

We had a complimentary foot massage since we were staying in the space zone. The massage was absolutely wonderful and although it was free the masseurs did not rush up on things and gave us the most relaxing massage ever. The spa is open till midnight so after shopping for the entire day a massage can be easily scheduled.

Between the two baiyokes a market is set up from 4 in the evening till 11 in the night and you can shop for quite some interesting stuff from there.

Thailand's Tallest Tower

This hotel is a tourist attraction itself. Being Thailand’s Tallest Tower, it’s an experience to see Bangkok from the hotel’s Sky Walk Revolving Roof Deck on its 84th floor. The attendants are nice and accommodating. They offered our group for a room upgrade from a Superior Room to a Junior Suite for free. The rooms are clean and have a nice view. Breakfast is always a fun time since the hotel offered a wide variety of food (Indian, Japanese, Chinese, European and Western cuisine). The location is good also since it is in the downtown area of Partunam. Just a walk away from Central World plaza, Siam Square and the Mah Boon Krong Shopping Centre. Security is also good. Most of the time police officers are visible since there is a night and morning market across the hotel. Plus ther's no cockroaches here folks!

It's ok so far

I was there recently (Sept. 11, 2007). I was doing a stopover for my flight to Dubai from Hong Kong. It was my first time in Bangkok. The location is really a turn off. I arrived in bangkok at past midnight and on my way to the hotel, I was really scared and was thinking that the taxi was taking me somewhere else but it turned out to be the right place. The hotel is situated in a market area so if you are in Bangkok for buying clothes then this hotel is for you.

They serve free buffet breakfast and when you say buffet, it is really one hell of a buffet.

We were there when the earthquake from Indonesia occured and we really felt the hotel swaying. I could hear the ceiling producing some sounds. My wife got really scared.

Overall, I could say that the hotel is an average. I really cant compare as I have not stayed at other hotels in Bangkok. However, I would prefer staying at a different hotel when coming back to Bangkok.

Unique Quality: Tallest Tower in Thailand... you could see everything from the top.

Average, but near Pratunam Market

The room here is spacious but don't expect much on the interior design.Good service, very clean rooms with five star amenities, coffee and tea maker, bathrobes with slippers etc. The bathroom was really nice, with modern showers and it was big The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfast buffet is not bad too.

But the best thing of the hotel is its location, downstairs is the Pratunam Market and Nearby in the Pantip Plaza. Walking towards the Nearest BTS Skytrain in Ratchathewi is 15 minutes however there is a hourly free shuttle provided by the hotel.

Observation Deck on 77th floor & Sky Walk, The Roof Top Bar & Music Lounge on 83rd floor,Bangkok “Sky Restaurant” on 76th & 78th floors. Highest International buffet breakfast in Bangkok, which is serving a large variety of European, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Muslim and Thai food.

Unique Quality: The Baiyoke Sky Hotel Bangkok; rising 88-storeys above Bangkok’s skyline, is Thailand’s tallest and Bangkok’s most scenic hotel and the third-tallest all-hotel structure in the world, with 673 guest rooms. The hotel building is 309 meters tall or about the height of 182 people standing on the top of each other (total 88 floors). There are 2,060 steps from the bottom to the top. It takes over one hour to reach the top.The hotel is strategically located in the heart of downtown Bangkok, surrounded by bustling markets and various entertainment attractions. While enjoying the spectacular view of the colorful city, Bangkok from the artistically built hotel or haggling around in the famous Pratunam Area, there is also easy access to many shopping paradises in Bangkok. The Central World Plaza Bangkok, Peninsula Plaza Bangkok, Gaysorn Plaza Bangkok, Sogo Department Store, Siam Square and Siam Paragon are only within a few walking minutes from the hotel. Sky Train stations are also reachable within walking distance from hotel and will provide easy & fast access to other part of Bangkok even up to the Weekend (JJ) market, Bangkok. Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport is 25 km far from the hotel, 30 minutes drive via express way

Bangkok from the Top!

Interesting piece of info: The hotel lays claim to being the tallest tower in Thailand. Being 309 meters tall, it is said to be about the height of of 182 people standing on top of each other.

Baiyoke sky has other things going for it: location is smack in the middle of Indra, Pratunam and nearby street markets, spacious standard rooms and the revolving rooftop (with its magnificent view of Bangkok's skyline especially at night!)

Stay at Baiyoke Sky hotel

by bomberbiz

I have booked my hotel on 28th May ~ 31st May at Baiyoke Sky hotel. May I know whether the place still safe from protestor?

Re: Stay at Baiyoke Sky hotel

Your hotel is right at the Northern edge of the "seal-off" zone set by the government. If you were planning to come within the next few days, I'd be suggesting to you to stay elsewhere. But since you won't be visiting for another 2 weeks, perhaps best advice is to stay abreast of the developments (at this moment things are heating up quite a bit) and/or to find a hotel further away from the protests.
