Almost 100 floors...Mu room was at the 48th floor. The room was Huge: 45 smt large. Inside the matthroom I got lost!!!...Price: Around 42 euros per night for a double room...Great View. When you come inside the hotel....my impression was not so great...it'e like a SUPERMAKET...hundreds of people all around!!!..First thing they told me at the recetpion was...If you want to take in your room a Different Girl every night...(After 5 p.m.) you have to pay 500 Bht per night...even if I had a double room! eh eh.... Breakfast is...TERRIFIC...since 5.30 a.m. till 10.00 a.m. you can eat...ALL!!!...5 different type of kitchen!!!

Baiyoke-Tallest but not the best...

Stay at hotel was OK only. Staff were all friendly and willing to help and talk to you about anything. Always greeted with smiles and warm welcomes. Hotel room was too big (if that is possible). It was more like an apartment, having a living, dining, bedroom, hallway, closet and bathroom....only thing missing I guess was the kitchen! Bathroom was the worst expereince ever...having a strong and very bad odour. The same odour that is noticeable along the river (basically a sewridge smell). Apart from that I guess everything was not too bad.....
***IMPORTANT***
If you are getting to this hotel by taxi....Avoid this one...Number B 9383....he agreed to go by the meter, but once destination was reached...another 100 Baht was added on.....
Every other taxi we took was fine fast and very cheap....!!!!

Unique Quality: Nice view from the revolving tower at the top of Baiyoke Sky Hotel. Location is about 30 mins walk to Central Siam....if you enjoy walking, then its ok, otherwise try a different hotel. The route to get to central Siam is quite frustrating as there is no one straight road. You are able to see it from the hotel, which seems minutes away, but getting there, you have to walk basically one big round through lots and lots of people!!!

Directions: Pratunam Area. Pratunam Market is directly on Baiyoke's doorstep.

Its an amazing place with the the best views of the city, being the tallest building in thailand! the lunch buffet is unreal, every kind of food from every corner of the globe you can imagine. a great experience.
ive no idea what it would cost to stay here but i guess-alot!

I personally would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to relax. Although it has acceptable facilties inside, once youre out of the hotel, youre likely to end up in a traffic jam. The nearest BTS station seems to be the Phayathai, which is at least a 15 minute walk. I personally get very exhausted from traffic jams, and even the sidewalks are very crowded with vendors(sometimes it could take more than 20 minutes to walk to the world trade center and Big C). I personally recommend hotels which are located near to the BTS, like asia hotel. But the choices are up to you ;)

Unique Quality: Tallest hotel in BKK

Baiyoke Skytower is the tallest building in Bangkok and you will probably see it at least once towering over the skyline. This is why a lot of people will stay at Baiyoke and honestly the same reason I did. It is really not worth the price in the end.

The bedroom and facilities were fairly standard, no better than the usual 1500baht room in most Bangkok hotels. The price I paid though was 3000baht per night which was far too expensive considering. The restaurants are mediocre and the bar on the top floor was terrible it was like a space theme it was laughable.

The only thing worth going to this hotel is for the view which is really quite amazing day or night. There is also a decent buffet in the restaurant for 400baht each so call in get a buffet meal and go check out the view cause theres no point in staying here.

This hotel is the third tallest in the world, after the Grand Hyatt of Shangai and the Burj Al Arab in Dubaï. Reception is on 18's floor. My room was with a small window and really nice bathroom, with separate bath and shower. I have good food on the coffee shop.
Large pool .

Unique Quality: In Pratunam, great view from the room

Directions: In Pratunam, back side of the Indra Regent hotel.

Stay there in 2004 and 2005. Paid around 2000 Baths/night. Book via www.asia-discovery.com
The hotel, staff and room are ok but if the location seems good, it is in fact badly located (to me). Nearly in the heart of pratunam, it takes you 10 min to reach Petchaburi Rd as you have to use the small Pratunam street full of people and vendors !!!!
and that's annoying.
Pool is really nothing !
Huge qty of guest !

Unique Quality: High
Breakfast on the observation desk

Highest hotel in Bangkok

We stayed in Baiyoke Sky for 3 nights. The room was big and comfortable, but the view was so-so (our room was on the 23rd floor, considered low for this 78 storey hotel!).

The staff were very friendly, and the buffet breafkfast is good, with a huge selection of food.

Must try the massage and spa! I went for the aromatherapy spa package, and it was cheap and good! Hotel guests are entitled to discount, and if I am not wrong, the spa center offers 50% discount for bookings in the mornings.

Unique Quality: Good breakfast buffet spread!

Thailand's tallest hotel, rising 88 storey above the Bangkok skyline, strategically located in the heart of downtown.

Surrounded by bustling market and entertainment attractions. Easy walking distance to the major shopping centers: World Trade Centre, Gaysorn Plaza, Peninsula, Sogo Department Store, Siam Square, MBK Centre etc

Unique Quality: Dine at 78th storey of the building, spectacular skyline view from the hotel. Whew!!!

Directions: Heart of Pratunum Wholesale Market

Unique Quality: Pool is situated at the 20th floor while the reception is at the 18th floor, and you can have your breakfast (or dine) at teh 78th floor!!!

Rooms were cosy and clean, more not extra luxuous. It was very quiet.

Directions: Situated in the heart of the shopping area!!!

Baiyoke Sky - Too much hype

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on December 12, 2004

The swimming pool was too cold, even in the afternoon, the water was freezing. It is also quite small. And because it's on the 20th floor, it gets very windy. Depending on your preference, you could find it nice to be able to get a tan, but feel cool because of the wind.

Personally, I felt COLD because i prefer to swim and the wind was just too much.

Also, you have to pay to use the sauna, which I find rather silly because all the other hotels i've stayed in, the jacuzzi and sauna is supposed to be free access to all hotel guests.

There was no safe box in the room. We had to use the one in the lobby which is very inconvenient, because we have to go down to the reception everytime we wanted to take something. Plus, it felt very unsafe checking our money in the middle of a busy lobby instead of in the privacy of our own room.

It was nice that although we booked a standard room, because of the lack of rooms, they upgraded us for free to a Superior Room. The bathrooms were big and spacious.

It is not near any BTS station and even though the pictures they showed on their website indicated that the shopping areas and BTS are neaby, it isn't easy to access. We had to walk a very long way to get to Siam Shopping area where Mah Boon Krong and everything else is.

The much hyped about Pratunam Market is nothing. Better to go to MBK or Chatuchak.

Directions: Just 20 yards from Pratunam Market.

Thailand's Tallest Hotel

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 25, 2004

It was on the list of hotels we could choose within the travel package that we took. Naturally, after we read that it was the tallest hotel in Thailand, we had to go for it.

The staff seems to be quite knowledgeable in matters related to tourist needs - what tranport to take to MBK, Chatuchak, the approximate time needed and cost etc. The facilities would be at least what you would expect it to have... Souvenir, pastry shops, a revolving restaurant for great views of the city, an excellent spread for breakfast and a swimming pool on the 20th floor. The only drawback of ths hotel is its location; not near anywhere we were interested in going...

Unique Quality: Of course, being the highest hotel in the country affords you the best view whether night or day.
In the day, you could try to make out buildings as far away as the horizon, and at night, you can have a contest to identify the various buildings scattered throughout the city.
And the bset thing was, it was COMPULSORY to have a meal at the 78th floor as that's where they serve ther breakfast! A 'dim sum' lunch buffet could be had for 300baht (S$12) with a free entry to the observatory lounge.

Directions: Turn left ONLY after you've passed the entrance for Indra-Regent Hotel, else the short distance is going to cost you lots of frustration - long waiting time for human traffic for just a short distance.
