Dining near Bandara Suites

by david198

We are staying 2 nights at Bandara suites in Silom end of September. What recommendations does anyone have for evening dining nearby this hotel please. Prefer NOT seafood restaurants please. My wife and daughter are not seafood fans, unfortunately.

Bandara itself houses Maison Chin, which has gotten very good reviews for its modern take on Chinese cuisine. Cantonese I believe.

A VERY short walk away is, arguably, Bangkok's best Italian restaurant, Zanotti. In a city full of excellent Italian restaurants, Zanotti does stand out. Another Italian restaurant, Bravo, is about 1-1/2 blocks away.

A short ten minute walk away is the Dusit Thani Hotel, which has several nice restaurants, one with a great view of Lumpini Park (if you get there before sunset).

For Thai food, nearby is well-known Baan Khanitta. I think it is over-rated, but visitors seem to enjoy the ambiance.

Enjoy.

Lunch with Yves Montand

by balisunshine

On a fancy outing to lunch,
in the luxurious shopping center Gaysorn Plaza,
I was seduced by the sensual voice of Pino
singing in the background.

Sounding just like Yves Montand
He had started with the French song
“La Vie en Rose”.

Pino then changed his tune
into the well known “Carrusso”
sung by Pavarotti.

Singing so beautifully in English, Spanish, Italian, and French,
with piano accompanying his perfectly in tuned, harmonic voice,
I felt that I was discovering the perfect man
to contract for a special romantic event,
a wedding, or a corporate event.

So if any events coordinators out there,
happen to read this post,
or you are planning a special occasion,
definitely look into auditioning Pino
as an option.

I am positive his graceful voice won’t let down.

(Annual Vegetarian Feastival) Kin Jay

by YaaDong

The Thai Vegetarian Festival is an annual event held during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar. It is believed that the vegetarian festival and its accompanying sacred rituals bestow good fortune upon those who religiously observe this rite. The Thai Vegetarian Festival falls usually in the middle of October until the end of the month. So look for restaurants or street stalls with yellow flags with red Thai or Chinese writing. They will serve vegetarian food.

Thai Snack "Crispy Spring Roll and Puffs"

by machomikemd

Again this is one of the things I Bought at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Spring rolls and cream puffs are popular all over asia and is made with different fillings and spices inside which depends on every country like here, the spring rolls are ULTRA SPICY! but the contrast is the cream or sweet puff which is obviously sweet hehehe. Again this is expensive at the airport at 400 Baht a box!
