Good Location, Quiet Area

This hotel was less than 10 minutes from the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Koa San Road and the Chao Phraya river. Very clean and organized. Rooms and facilities were more than adequate. Simple American breakfast is included. Book online for a better price than walk up.

Near Grand Palace and Khao San Road

Boonsiri is tucked away in the quiet part of old town and sits on the other side of Khao San Road, a backpacker's area which comes alive at night because of the night market and the restaurants/bars teeming with foreigners sharing travel stories over mugs of beer.

Boonsiri's rooms are clean and huge. From the outside, the place looks more of a guesthouse than a hotel. The stray dogs and the dimly-lit surrounding area made us a bit uncomfortable, especially because we arrived at 2 am, but I think the area is quite safe.

Breakfast is not buffet (hey, the place is cheap and is centrally located) and consists of either sandwich, cereal or rice with omelette.

A funny thing happened when the lady at the breakfast counter kept smiling and answering "yes" to my questions when apparently she did not understand that I want my sandwich prepared ahead of time and ready for pick-up in the afternoon. Thais are really friendly and this would compensate their limited ability to speak English. :-)

Unique Quality: Perfect for tourists who want to visit the number 1 attraction in Bangkok which is the Grand Palace. It's a 15-minute walk away from Grand Palace, River Cruise (Tha Tien Pier) and 5-minute walk away from Khao San Road.

Make sure to get the area map found in the elevator as most cab drivers are not familiar with Boonsiri or better yet print the map from their website below.
