Hi Guys,
Need your advise.
I will be going to bangkok on the 22nd of April. Pattaya will be on 21st.
I'm staying in Budacco hotel, in Ratchapraprop road @ Ratchadewi.
I know the protesting area is somewhere around my hotel area.
Do you think it safe to stay around the area?
Is it ok for us to travel out to the shopping area?
I looking forward to go to Bangkok.
Maybe someone stay in Bangkok can give me a word of advise?
Thanks.
Due to the fact that the situation here can change in the next 10 days, I think it's difficult for any of us to give you reliable replies to your concerns. Is the area around your hotel safe and is it okay for you to go to the shopping area? In my opinion "yes", for the time being. But given that not all of us would have thought that the violence would move onto the tourist area of Khao San Road, I think we here in Bangkok can't do much more than what you probably want to be doing: watching the situation closely.
is best to avoid bangkok now.. i JUST postponed my trip to bangkok to end of may. hopefully thigs will get better. coz no point going to bangkok now, u will end up feeling insecure over there.. am i rite. but anw, is all up to u..
my advice is postpone. better be safe then sorry. all the best :)
In Bangkok. Its still a big bigger situation since the death of Japaness journalist . that both anti-government and many anti red shirt will be crash againt in anyplace and anytime. so if it possible its may save to purpone to next couple month. Its hot and danger of unknow situation that might be happen.
Hi all :)
I will be going to bangkok with a friend from the 21-24 May 2010. We will be staying at Budacco Hotel bangkok. Since the hotel and platinum mall is pretty near the protest are, Do you think its safe to go now? especially with the upcoming plan for a mass rally at the end of this week? We would be interested to go shopping at platinum mall and chatuchak. Can anyone advise me? suggestions and options too?
Many thanks in advance!
:D
Hi
I think it s safe for you, Budacco Hotel is next road from protest area.
Platinum still open, Chatuchak is very far from protester, everyone has usually life as before.:)
Ignore what the BBC or the UK government tell you. Its business as usual in BKK.
Platinum/MBK are all open. Yes, there are some disruptions but life is going on as normal, there are fewer tourists because of all the negative press.
Just go and don,t worry, you have more chance of being injured by a Tuk Tuk than a Red shirt protester.
What plan for a mass rally at the end of this week? Isn't that what has been going on daily since before Songkran? Lots of talk but nothing new.
sure o not ? still in doubt...i heard news said they will sending more people from north. although the roadmap they edi accepted but the reds still not yet go back..thats reali worrying..but the heart reali wan go there enjoying..haizzz...how ??
more people coming does not necessarily mean that there'll be a mass rally this weekend (besides what's currently going on). there could be one, but I haven't seen any news about one planned.
