The Capehouse
This is a serviced apartment, but I prefer to stay there than a hotel.
The staff is extremely helpful and the 1 bedroom is definitely much larger than typical hotel rooms.
A good option for the business travellers.
Unique Quality: Very nice facilities and free wireless broadband in the room!!

A great, central place to stay in Bangkok!
I happened to be going to Bangkok with a couple of business companions who were frequent visitors to that city. As such, they had long since settled on staying at the Cape House Serviced Apartments. This very nice and friendly facility has an outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi on the 16th floor. Then on the 15th floor there is a fitness center, a business center and a lounge.
I don’t think you can go wrong with this hotel. See my description below for more information. It is about a 10-minute easy walk from here to the centrally located Intercontinental Hotel as well as the nearest Skytrain station.
Unique Quality: The rooms are actually furnished apartment suites. I really liked that about the Cape House. Instead of having to come back each day to a small hotel room and bathroom, I was actually in a suite of rooms. Each suite has a small kitchen (with coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave), a main room (DVD and video players, satellite TV, and free, fast, wireless internet), a bedroom (with independent air conditioning and controls) and a large bathroom containing a shower and tub. They even give you a free little teddy bear to take home with you! My spacious apartment cost me 2050 Baht per night or about US$51.00 per night. I also took the breakfast package (very good hot buffet with American style bacon and pancakes and cereals, etc.) for about US$3.50 per day. The breakfast buffet is served in the Thai/Italian restaurant open later in the day for dinner. For the value received, any other hotel in the area would come up short on its amenities.
