This hotel I found to be a great discovery, hidden away in the Sukhumit area and walking distance from the Bamrungrat Hospital and several of the trendy night clubs in the area.
It’s about a 7 minutes walk from the Nana Sky Train station, if you opt NOT to take the Tuk Tuk service that is provided by the hotel to the station.
The whole building itself, is very clean and so are the studios. You have the option from the very spacious studio, to the 1 bedroom apartments. Each have a terrace, equipped kitchen, cable TV, and there are cameras placed in various areas of the building for security.
Rooms vary according to size, floor, and length of stay but the rooms that I saw on the 2nd floor at the time of my visit, ran from 1800 Bahts for the studio and 2500 Bahts for the 1 bedroom.
Because having a kitchen is a practical commodity for my personal use, I would definitely consider this hotel for my next stay.
Unique Quality: Spacious and has a kitchen Good location Very clean
Can anyone recommend any budget hotel near sukhumvit area especially closed to Ambassador Hotel?

When you need a hotel recommendation you should also include how much per night you want to spend on a room.
Three places under 1000 baht are near the Swiss Park Hotel that is on Sukhumvit Soi 11. President Inn, Business Inn and Bangkok Inn. Here is a link to the Bangkok Inn, the other 2 places are only a minute away on the same side soi (Soi 11/1.)

Here is a link to a hotel chain of small hotels that is not that far from the Ambassador Hotel. Most are on the opposite side of Sukhumvit Road. All of these hotels are under 1000 baht.

How much per night do you want to spend on a room? How desperate are you to be real close to the Ambassador? Suk 11 Hostel is almost across the street on the Sukhumvit Road Soi 11 side.

On the opposite side of the Ambassador Hotel is the old Miami - some rooms are better than what the outside may indicate. That hotel has been around since the VN war. Knowing what amount of money "budget price" means to you helps put you in the right place.
Soi 1 Guest House is on Soi 1 (obviously) they have some dorm rooms. I have used the Business Inn and President Inn (Soi 11/1) and they were not that bad. All of the hotels mentioned have air, hot water, private toilet/shower, TV, except for the Suk 11 hostel and Soi 1 Guest House which have shared toilets and showers.
Good luck.

Travel Tips for Bangkok
Take a tour in a Tuk-Tuk....
by StretfordEnd
Take a tour in a Tuk-Tuk. These little motor scooters with carriages built on are the quickest and cheapest way to get around, though the driving is erratic and the ride very bumpy. Patpong. Sleazy, sweaty and can be a bit dodgy, yet unlike anything you will ever see anywhere else.
Riverside Temple
by herzog63
As you ride up the river and the canals you can see many of the Beautifully Decorated Buddhist Temples! When you first see them you may be very excited but after a 30 or 40 of them you may become Templed Out!!
River of Kings Part 4 - closing fireworks
by Audrey118
At the closing of the musical, we were all treated to some nice fireworks.
During the following nightly performances, when we were having dinner at the Supatra House, which is across the otherside of the river, we saw the beautiful fireworks again!!! what a treat!
Monk Seats
by trisanna
On some buses and river taxis, there are special seats allocated to monks. They are usually located close to the entry/exit points. They are reserved for monks and you should never sit in them-even if you are quite tired.
Packing List
by l_joo
Here is what you will get in Bangkok (The North Face) cost only 200 baht. The backpack size 60 is only 750 baht (Good immitation work). Other brands you can get here are: ECKO, Jack Wolfskin, Lowe Alpine, Timberland, Adidas, Nike and many more. So don't be surprised to see many tourists carrying two backpacks of these brand names but be careful with it's quality, double check before you pay your money. They also have good immitation shoes of Timberland, etc, and last, make sure you pack a bottle of water from Thailand cost 5 baht.
