Convenient Location on Ratchadaphisek Road

Although the location is way a bit out of the city but the hotel is a short walk to MRT Station. Traffic in Bangkok is a nightmare, I always look for simple hotel which is close to MRT or Skytrain. The hotel room is comfortable, large, clean and good facilities. The high floor provide good view of north of Bangkok. Breakfast was good. Staffs were just nice. The price is in my budget, so .. I will definitely stay there again.

Unique Quality: In walking distance to Ratchadaphisek MRT Station

Good Value Hotel

The Chaophya Park Hotel, located on Ratchadapisek Road in Bangkok, Thailand, is a 400-room hotel that offers guests four-star service at three-star prices. Actually, at some of the restaurants you’d have to go to a top five-star restaurant to beat the quality. They have a good variety, too, with a buffet restaurant, and Italian, Chinese and Japanese too. I tried teh italian and buffet restaurants while I was there and thought both were pretty good.

And, it is the only city center hotel to feature a full service golf driving range on two levels which I found to be very convenient.

Unique Quality: A nice feature of the hotel is its convenient location. It wasn’t nearly as great a location until the subway started running a few years ago. Now, though, a couple minutes of walking takes you to the nearest station and in about 15 minutes you’re at Sukhumvit Road in in 20 minutes you’re at Silom Road, the two major thoroughfares in Bangkok. And these two stations connect directly to the overhead Skytrain system which opens up many more destinations for shopping, dining and entertainment. Mass transit is definitely the way to get around Bangkok which you will certainly know if you’ve traveled here before or live here now.

Good location!

Very pleasant atmosphere, nice staff. Bathrooms are large and comfortable.
There is a nice live music in the evenings in lobby bar! :)

Unique Quality: Hotel is located a bit out of the very centre of Bangkok, but still in busy area. Not far from Airport.
You cen easy get to the very centre in about 10-15 mins by metro. Closest metro station is about 3-5 mins walk from hotel called "Rachadapisek".

Beautiful rooms and cosy comforts

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was wonderful. Just a short ride from the airport, this hotel, though a little out of the way from the central shopping areas, is well provided with nearby shopping centres -- Fortune Town Shopping Mall, Carrefour and Robinsons.

There's also a very handy little Fresh Mart in the same grounds as the hotel, just behind the hotel, visible from where we have breakfast in the cafe.

There's a Ratchada Caberet nearby that's also where there's great seafood. You can't miss it -- there's a HUGE LOBSTER sign that marks the spot. We ate the seafood restuarant that's under the clear plastic roofing. Yummy.

Unique Quality: Deluxe Rooms

Big and staying on the 15th floor, we had quite a nice view of the surrounding area. Nothing much to see -- just a cityscape, but there is a golf driving range that we had a view of.

Toilet had a separate shower and bath, was equipped with an auto hairdryer and came with shower foam, shampoo, body lotion and soap.

Food -- Breakfast

Great breakfast -- fresh and yummy! American breakfast with bacon, ham and eggs done to your liking, and an assortment of breads and jams, and also salad.

There's also local delights like seafood soup and fried rice, porridge, seasonal vegetables and fresh local fruit.

We paid about USD 37 per night for a double room. Bought the room off the Internet. :)

More about Chaophya Park Hotel Bangkok

To the seaside resort of PATTAYA

by volarevolare

You can get a bus ride from the Eastern Bus Station (Ekkamai -- "ek-ka-mai") which you can reach taking the BTS Skytrain down the Sukhumvit line towards the last stop E9 On Nut. Stop at E7 Ekkamai stop.

The bus leaves every half an hour from 5am to 11pm.

One way fare is only 90 Baht and the express air-conditioned bus takes about 2 -- 2.5 hours to reach Pattaya.

You can contact Rung Reang Tour at the number below if you want to speak with the operators. They speak good English so it's easy to communicate.

A taxi ride will cost about 2000 Baht.

Alternatively, you could check if your hotel could arrange a ride for you in their own hotel limousine -- which could be anything from a Toyota Corolla or Volvo or Mercedes.

From Chaophya Park hotel, the ride costs 2500 Baht.
From the Jomtein Spa and Club Resort, it costs 1600 Baht back to Bangkok.

So prices will vary, please check with your hotel.

Is anyone familiar with this hotel?

Is it really next to the underground station / convenient to get to main shopping areas?

Any good, decent and cheap traditional massage places around this hotel?

Thanks a million for any comments /tips on this hotel.

I haven't stayed there, but......

It is a short walk to the subway, making much of downtown easily accessible.

There is a great Japanese buffet in the hotel.

Hi, do not know this hotel but I recently stayed at the Asia Hotel which is a good tourist class hotel, reasonable rates, close to Siam Square, the MBK shopping complex. The best benefit is that you walk from the hotel' second floor straight onto a sky train station. Get a day pass for 100 baht and you quickly get to many parts of Bangkok in airconditioned comfort within 15 minutes. For information email info@asiahotel.co.th
good luck, Mikebb
