Best deal

The best deal is to stay here. For $64 a night (if you prepay when you book online) you get a corporate apartment, with a kitchen, and a Jacuzzi in your room! The smallest room is gigantic compared to any hotel. The bathroom is very spacious as well. The staff is excellent and the location is great: 3 blocks away from the metro, across the street from a supermarket (very convenient if you remember you have a full kitchen!)

There is a gym on the 12th floor as well as a pool with a great view of the Bangkok skyline and a Jacuzzi. You can also relax in the sauna and the stream room, and sit on the massage chair for free.

Other amenities in the building are the self service laundry, Italian restaurant, a great bar in the floor 14th (with a great view) and some meeting space. Overall: a GREAT value and a GREAT experience. I would recommend it any day of the week!

Aparthotels in Bnagkok

There are quite a few places to choose from. I am attaching some of them so that you can do your own search by apartment or location. A word of caution, some of the places do attach some hidden charges, water, power/elec, etc... so beware of those, however, most of them do not and are pretty straight forward in their pricing like most hotels. If there are contact e-mails I would try to do some inquiring. We've stayed at several of the serviced apts and almost all of them were good stays. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Good luck and have fun!

Bangkok serviced apartments

Not sure what your price range is but there are several serviced aapartments in the area that you are looking at. Chateau De Bangkok is only a couple blocks away, walking distance, or one stop on the BTS. Another is the Center Point Luang Suan.
Anyway here are a couple web sites that are pretty good and informative.

A Serviced Apartment!

I've always wanted to stay in a serviced apartment, and I got to stay in one during a business trip in Bangkok. Frankly, my colleagues preferred a different hotel, but I had no complaints.

This is probably the largest room I've been booked in. I loved the walk-in closets! If you come to Bangkok to shop, this may be a great place to be in because it has a huge closet, lots of storage for shopping bags. Plus, it's near the Suan Lum Night Market!

You also get a big bed, a nice sitting area; there's a small dining area that sits two, and a working table, too. The TV's nice and large. Plus, the bathroom's OK. I've seen better, but I love this bathroom's size. It even has a jacuzzi (but I never tried it, sorry!). They also have a full working kitchen with utensils, pots, pans, and plates.

When I was there, they hosted a party for the residents/guests of the Chateau. It was alright. They hosted it at the 12F, where the pool is located. Great view, I must say.

Breakfast is a dud. I've tasted better, plus they don't have much variety.

Unique Quality: Location, location, location. It's a few hundred meters from the MRT. You can hire a scooter to get you there or you can walk---which is what I did. It's on a safe neighborhood, lots of embassies around, and I'd even walk late at night alone.

Good hotel in good location

I have stayed here many times over the years and have always liked it. It has a great location near Wireless Rd and Sukimvit Rd. The hotel is getting a bit rundown but is still acceptable. The rooms are larger than average with nice sitting area in the one's I've stayed in. The in-house restaurant is OK but there are so many good restaurants nearby I would give it a bye. As is usually the case in Thailand the desk staff and bellboys are very friendly and helpful.

Unique Quality: The lobby deli is a godsend. It is a place to get snacks and drinks for the room. It has good sandwiches and some other ready to go food if that's all you want to eat for a change. There is a bar district under to expressway down the street about 10 minutes walk away if you are feeling lucky.

Service Apartment in Ploenchit Area

Chateau de Bangkok is a pretty good solution for a larger group or family to stay in a nice facility in a good location at a good price. Our family of 5 stayed in the two bedroom apartment at a nightly price of around 125 US (this includes tax and service). Nice workout facilities with dumbells, weight machine, cardio machines and benches. Also includes steam room and sauna. Roof top pool and hot tub are small but nice. As these serviced apartments are mostly used by working people from the EU, America or Asia, there seems to be little regular use of pool and workout facilities.

The area is very convenient to Ploenchit BTS - only a few blocks walk away. Across from the Conrad and All Seasons Plaza mall. Nice kitchen facility with plateware, glasses, refrigerator, stove, etc. Satellite TV, hardwood floors and in hotel restaurant.

Curries and More is a good Thai restaurant very close to the hotel. A lot of street food close by near the hotel and around the BTS Ploenchit station. If you want to pig out western style go to the Conrad Lunch ($15 US) Buffet. Incredible.....

The clincher here is that you do not have to secure two rooms to keep a group of 5 or 6 people. It is a good value in a good area. I recommend it highly.

Unique Quality: Large comfortable accomodations with kitchen, hardwood floors, jacuzzi tubs and satellite tv. Found it quiet and conveniently located.

Cheap Elegant Hotel

The facilities for this hotel are first class and the staff is top notch. The hotel is off of Soi Raum Rudee just up and off of Sukhumvit Road.

Unique Quality: The pool is on the roof and it is huge. Plenty of space to run around and mingle etc.

You wont find a 5star cheaper

Chateau De Bangkok is a 4/5star hotel and is excellent value for money, costing $46 a night. The staff are very friendly & helpful and the room service was excellent. When you think about it $46 for a 5star hotel, your going to find it hard to get one for that cheap in the whole world.
I know Thailand is a very cheap country for us westerners and that you can find accomodation very cheap but if you want to have a bit of luxury I would recommend this hotel.

Unique Quality: It has a great roof top swimming pool and spa, although in the daytime Bangkok is very smoggy during the day, the pool is very nice at night and open until 10pm.

Does anyone know the contact no. or email of Chateau de Bangkok? I tried surfing the Net for its website or contact details, however I was always directed to third party booking sites. I prefer to book directly with Chateau. Thanks.

Thanks so much for your replies.

Bulldogtwo - I had the opportunity of "sleeping over" at one of their rooms a few years back. I was impressed with their studio type room esp. the jacuzzi ;) Hence, I'm really keen on staying there again when I go to Bangkok in December. Will post my review when I get back.

Re: Chateau de Bangkok

why not u just booking via the reputable third party website like asiarooms, agoda, www.bangkok.com,www.hotelthailand.com,,,their offer very good,,,

Re: Chateau de Bangkok

by asianbelle

Thanks Mark, but based on experience in booking hotels in Asia, I get more concessions when I deal with the hotel directly than with third party.
