Excellent value & location in Sukhumvit

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 19, 2007

The rooms are big and just like the photos on the web. It is 8-10 minutes walk to Skytrain station Phrom Pong, by Emporium Mall and Royal Benjasiri Park. Excellent value for Sukhumvit location. This is a smaller hotel in a 5-story building, the hotel lobby may not be as big or impressive as some giant 400+room hotels, but the rooms are quite adequate. Most rooms are located around an atrium with beautiful plants. Excellent buffet breakfast is served in atrium area with high ceilings, with both Western and Asian selections. Restaurant and hotel staff very friendly, polite, and courteous. There are internet cafes nearby, and a very good Thai restaurant on the same street, some fruit stores and pharmacies, and many bars. Fortunately, the noise from the bars do not reach the rooms. Forgot name of the Thai restaurant, but it is listed in map in hotel room. The fruit store nearby sells wonderful Mango with Sticky Rice, sweet ripe Mango at very reasonable price. "

Unique Quality: Very good price for Sukhumvit area and proximity to Skytrain.

Directions: From Phrom Phong Skytrain station which is right by Emporium shopping center, walk along Sukhumvit road past the Benjasiri park. Left on Soi 22, about 2 blocks, Regency Park hotel is on your right.

A Great location in Bangkok

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 19, 2007

This hotel is a little old but the rooms are very big, clean and comfortable.
There are only about 50 rooms here and they give good services for such a small hotel.
It is a bit more expensive than you might expect for a hotel of its size and age and without a pool but the location is very central to everything in the Sukhumvit area.

Unique Quality: The water feature with the creek, turtles and hanging gardens in the atrium is quite "Suaay" or beautiful.
The food here is very good and if you get the free buffet breakfast (as I did) I think you will find that it is very good also.

Directions: Coming from the Nana area of Sukhumvit turn right at soi 22 before the Emporium shopping centre.

Really nice and small hotel, open in 1991 and renovated in 2000, is located on the same same soi of the largest hotel of Bangkok"Imperial Queen's Park".
I stay with wife, baby and one sun with extra bed in the same room without problem.Beautiful marble bathroom .Nice view in the BTS skytrain. Lovely lobby with view in a small garden with water. Great breakfast and good service. Small pool on the roof.

Unique Quality: Good location in soi 22, many restaurants and hotel.
Nice interior design.

Directions: 50 meter from Sukhumvit on the right of the soi 22

Budget Accommodation

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on July 29, 2004

On the internet, the hotel looks beautiful, but like most things, the real thing is not as such. The facade looks not too clean and standing beside a kampong-style house on one side and recent construction ground on the other, it is not appealing. But once you enter the hotel, you notice that the staff are friendly and eager to serve.
There is a tour desk manned by `Nee' who smiles a lot, speaks English and willing to provide you with good info. The hotel room which we had, a superior is located at the 2nd floor. Just a floor above us is the coffee house/ restaurant which we took our daily breakfast. The spread is okay but not that fantastic. But then again, it is a budget hotel (it cost only about US$25 per room per night) which is good for sleeping.
I do not know if it is `girl-friendly' but a security desk is manned by a male staff throughout the night. There are a massage shop and an internet room in the hotel. But I did not get to use them as I prefer to walk a few yards away for a good massage at Wat Po Massage Center which is near to a cheap internet cafe... Opposite the hotel, not many steps away is the famous Mambo Cabaret Show.. The hotel provides a security box for which we have to put a `deposit' of 1000 baht for its key...it's okay, you' ll get all your money back if you don't lose your key!

Unique Quality: The hotel is located near to the Pra Phong BTS station or the Asoke Stn. After walking from both the station I think it is nearer to Pra Phong. But from the other station, you may walk into the Queen's Park for a short break!
