There are four Citadines Apart'hotels along Sukhumvit at Soi 8, 11, 16 and 23 which mean they're close to the BTS Skytrain. I stayed in two of them during the start and end of my 5-month trip around SE Asia. They are very similar to each other and feature three types of rooms: 1-bedroom deluxe, 2-bedroom deluxe and Studio Executive. I stayed in studio executive rooms which have a living area and fully-equipped kitchen, 1 Queen size bed, ensuite bathroom, broadband internet access, telephone with IDD facility, 32" flat screen TV with cable channels, DVD player, hairdryer, refrigerator, 2-ring cooker, kettle, plates, pots, pans, utensils etc, ironing board, iron, umbrella, microwave, sofa, a/c and daily breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful and facilities include a gym and a small swimming pool on the roof. Nice, modern and clean which served me great.
Citadines Sukhumvit 8
Rooms/Facilities- We stayed in the 2-Bedroom Deluxe apartel. Can't say anything bad about it. There's a broadband connection, CTV, living room and a small kitchen that makes life quite comfortable to the net addicts and couch potatoes that we are! (Well, that's after strolling around Bangkok for most of the day!). A big plus is the generous number of available electric outlets where we were able to recharge our cams, CPs and LTs (I normally encounter just two outlets/rm in my previous hotels).
Food- Be treated to a free western breakfast at Season Day Resto of the Hotel
Staff- Very helpful in ensuring that we have a hassle-free stay.
Recommended to those who want to enjoy a peaceful and quiet night after strolling around Bangkok!
Unique Quality: Free tuktuk service to Nana Station
I have always stayed in hotels during all my biz trips to Bangkok. On a recent personal trip, I decided to try staying at Citadines, a serviced apartment that's part of the Ascott Group. I have always thought serviced apartments are for long stays only so I was quite surprised to find that Citadines caters to short stays especially in the studio rooms.
If you're here for a short trip, try Citadines. It's small but comfy and well appointed. It may lack the full service that you find in hotels (like bathroom toiletries, bath tub, stocked minibar, daily housekeeping) but if you're just staying for 2 nights, it's fine.
Citadines is still pretty new thus everything in my studio room looks great! There's a LCD TV, comfy queen bed, sofa, writing desk, good lighting (most hotel rooms are dark but Citadines is well lighted for reading everywhere and comes with mood lighting too), small equipped kitchen and free internet.
For Baht 2000 a night including breakfast, I have everything I need. Best part is, Citadines is just 5 minutes walk to Asoke BTS.
Unique Quality: New serviced apartments
Affordable rates with breakfast
A new apartment style hotel in a good Sukhumvit location. About 5 minutes brisk walk from Asoke skytrain station, the rooms are very modern and almost minimalist. They are of studio style, with a sliding partition that can segregate the sleeping area from the sitting/kitchen area. The TV and video slides along the wall so you can see it in either side.
I got a special internet deal because of it recently opening - there seemed to be many different deal options. My deal included free breakfast and in-room broadband.
Breakfast was, to be honest, a disaster. If you can choose a non-breakfast package, take it. The buffet consists of small platters of melon, meat and cereals. You also get 2 eggs cooked as you like. A far better option would be to dine at the Foodland restaurant 100 yards further along the road - it is good, fast and open 24 hours.
There is a small gym on the 8th floor with running machine, bike, fitness centre and dumbells.
Unique Quality: A pool is apartently planned, but no sign of it yet.
