Since this is our first family stay in Bangkok we did some searchings for hotels which fit to our criterias: within common family budget, easy to go to any direction, nearby convenience store or supermarket and of course clean room having free internet connection. Came up several hotels' name, we did a little further detail as then we decided to stay at the City Lodge Soi 19 in Sukhumvit.
We (parents with 2 teens children) agreed that we stay at the right place. Location is amongst the most favorable in Bangkok, just 2 mins to BTS and 5 mins to MRT walking. Taxis, tuk-tuks or motorcycled-taxi were easy to get. Services were above average with helpful staff and room service. The building is physically outdated but the rooms are big, clean and having fast internet free connection. Standard toiletries but incl. sandals and bedrobes. Elevator was old and small but we had no problem using it.
Resume: Highly recommended. Real value for money, very good location, restaurant and street food stalls in nearby area.
Unique Quality: No extra ordinary facilities, but you could easily find food and souvenirs in nearby area. Walk along Soi 19 you will find street foodstalls which are favourites of local people. Go along Sukhumvit Road on to the smaller Soi's number, you will find so many restaurants and souvenir shops. When you walk after sunset you can easily attracted to street's market along Sukhumvit Road where you could buy almost anything.
City Lodge Soi 19 is an Amari Associate Hotels.
Directions: Next to Asok BTS station (E4) and very close to Sukhumvit MRT station.
We found City Lodge in a guide book and chose this hotel because it was supposed to be cheap. They lowered the rate, but only down to 3000 baht. We were so tired because we had not slept the night before, that we took the room.
It's very clean, it has a regular shower with hot water. We were on the 7th floor with a view of the Westin.
The location was desirable because it was right next to the Asok skytrain stop. A few streets to the east, and you are near the Soi Cowboy 2 area.
This would be a nice hotel if it was a better deal. I feel like I got ripped off.
We stayed there for three nights and stayed for Christmas, so either the rates were high, or we just looked like suckers.
I went to the gym across the street at the Westin. The gym was 500 baht. It was definately worth it to have a nice workout and shower.
1200 bath / night
can be cheaper if u stay more than 3 nights
Unique Quality: I think this hotel is in a nice location and the price is reasonable ! best recommended
