I booked this Hotel as it was located very close to the Airport (approx 10mins) and that I had an early morning flight. A big plus, was included in my price was a FREE AIRPORT SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT. When I arrived, there was a person there holding the sign with the Hotels name on it. He checked me off the list, and just had to wait until all his clients turned up and then we were on our way. The Hotel is located on the River and has a nice outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy the view of the Temple on the other side, perhaps feed the Huge Fish, or just relax with a drink. My room was on the 1st floor. For one person, it had 2 single beds, Dressing table & Wardrobe, Fridge, TV and Air conditioning. There was a seperate area that you could dry yourself in, as the Bathroom was like lots I stayed in, where the shower has no curtain. A plus for me, was teamaking facilities, FREE Tea, coffee, and 2 bottles of FREE WATER. I did not hear the Planes at night, although outside in the daytime they were loud as they came over down low. I slept ok. The staff were nice, so I was happy with my stay and would stay there again, very convenient!
The Queen's Garden resort hotel near Bangkok Airport is very inexpensive, ideral if you want a cheap hotel near Bangkok Airport. They also offer a complimentary one way transfer from bangkok Airport to the hotel. At a rate from B 850 a night ( less that US$ 90 ) don't expect top luxury, but the Queen's Garden resort is in a pleasant location and it makes an ideal place to stay within reasonable distance of Bangkok International Airport at what is a cheap rate.
Unique Quality: Value for money and free one way airport transfer, cheap hotel near Bangkok Airport.
A 3 star accomodation and lot cheaper (850 Thai Bhat = US$25) then the NOVOTEL at Bangkok airport, Right next to the Transportation Center which is less then 10 minutes away by Free Airport Shuttle Bus.
Unique Quality: Many out of 67 rooms have countryside views and all afford numerous amenities, including: large balcony, air conditioning, satellite TV (CNN, Star Sports & Movies, HBO & AXN), refrigerator and shower rooms en-suite.
We fly into Bangkok airport fro Australia with Qantas about 23.00 hours. We want to stay near the airport in a moderate priced hotel then return to the airport the next morning for our flight to Phukett with Air Asia. I assume it is then same airport.
Can anyone recommend a hotel? What price should the taxi be approximately?
I would double check with AirAsia about the airport, some internal flights leave from the older airport. As for airport hotels check out asiarooms.com - they are usually reasonably priced.
There is one hotel that is connected directly to the airport and that is the Novotel. Other than that you will need to take a taxi to other hotels.
From what I can see from the Air Asia website they only use the new airport (BKK) which is where your QANTAS flight will land. Not sure what you mean by moderate priced hotel, there is not much near the new airport apart from the Novotel. At the time you will be arriving a taxi to the Sukhumvit area will take 30 minutes and there are numerous hotels around there that will ne cheaper than the Novotel. I would make my decsion based on how early the Air Asia flight leaves. If it is before 10.00am I would pay the money and stay at the Novotel.
Air Asia uses only new airport. I also recommend to stay at Novotel. It may cost a bit higther but you can also save your transporation fee.
Have a great time in Thailand mate.
Try to look at Floral Shire Resort, Convenient Resort Bangkok, Queen's Garden Resort, Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport and Nawarat Resort & Serviced Apartment, These hotels are nearly Suvarnabhumi Airport, The hotels has service airport transfer for customers.
