What to do with SIM Card ? Happy, True or 12Call
by woodysak
There are 3 main SIM Card providers which are
Happy from Dtac
True Move Prepaid
1-2-Call from AIS
Happy has a lot promotion to offer and the signal is good
True Move Prepaid' coverage is not good if compare with Happy, but if you plan to live in Bangkok or in the big city like Chiang Mai, Pattaya or Hatyai, True Move offers lots of reasonable price promotions, which includes GPRS, 3G, WIFI, Internet Connection packages. Moreover, you can even bring your own laptop to True Move Cafe or True Service to use free or reasonable access to internet and it's real quick !
1-2-Call Coverage is excellent, if you're out of town or somewhere very far from city, this is recommended !!
visit Siam Park.

walking along Sukhumvit Road from Soi 1 to Soi 57 at night. Bargain hunting and stop over at Soi 1 to 4 for the Northern Indian and Arabic food. For those with international palate, try the international cuisine at the ground floor of the Ambassador Hotel. If you are tired, hop on a tuk-tuk for 4 baht ( but endure the noise and smoke).
My favorite Wat in Ayutthaya
by syllybabe
Even from afar the Khmer type tower of Wat Ratchaburana looked imposing and beautiful in its intricacy. Up close, it didn't disappoint.
The two chedis were built by Chao Sam Phraya in memory of two brothers who fought and died in battle for the throne after their father passed away.
If I'm not mistaken, that's Garuda carved in the corners of the tower.
Free for Thais
by dfactor
Paid 250Baht to get into the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo, upon entering the palace, looked up and was surprised to see a sign that says it's FREE for the Thais. Later, I found the same thing for some other temples/wat. I find it a little odd, here in Malaysia, everybody pays.
The well-dressed Buddha ...
by shrimp56
One constant in my travels in Thailand were the Buddha's wearing scarves or sashes. It is obviously a sign of veneration -- in fact the Emerald Buddha has 3 sets of woven gold thread outfits to suit the seasons. This Buddha was just sitting there facing away from the main malestrom of the Grand Palace.
