Dusit Hotel Splendid Place And Very Pretty

by TripAdvisor Member SEXY2

We have stayed at the Dusit twice once in 2003 and again in 2004.

We stayed in a superior room a newly renovated sea view both times and i can only stay the whole expeierence of this hotel are truly magical we loved it and so did our friends.

The town itsself is a bit daunting and Its a shame that thats how the girls make a living as it spolit the nightlife in my opion

it was a starnge expierence because if you went into town in the morning for breakfast the town was totally quiet and peaceful and then at night the whole town wakes up

use the bar opposite the dusit BJ's the owner and his wife are really friendly he will give you lots of tips for sightseeing etc and also his food is delicious and very useful if you dont fancy walking into town

I dont think we will be back to Pattaya but we will use another dusit hotel again on our travels in 2007

WONDERFUL DUSIT

by TripAdvisor Member suz67

Myself and my family stayed at the Dusit for 18 nights and we had a magical break. The Staff were wonderful and the hotel was clean and and had a a very welcoming feeling.
We are going back next year and looking forward to meeting the wonderful staff who made our holiday so special.
I have to teenagers who said this was their best ever trip, that in it's self is worth the fare alone.... You either love it or hate it but I can't wait to go back..

A good choice, but expensive

by TripAdvisor Member NG42

A very nice hotel indeed, with spacious and clean rooms, very nice health facilities like spa, health club and pools and good restaurants with excellent food. Staff is very courteous and very helpful. The travel desk was particularly good and they gave us very good deals- better than most streetside travel agents within pattaya. Location is excellent, right next to the beach. there was a lot of construction going on during our stay which was a minor inconvenience. However the big problem is the price- we paid USD 120 for this hotel without breakfast, and i am sure that it is too much! All the other things in the hotel like internet, restaurant, buffet, spa, etc are really overpriced by pattaya standards. The Marriot hotel next door is as good, and 30% cheaper!

Not so good

by TripAdvisor Member Acetraveller

Stayed here at the Dusit in September for 10 days. This isnt the first time we have stayed here, we have stayed 3 times before. However on our return here this time we found it to have really gone down to what it used to be. They were doing renovations while we were there which was fine and not too obtrusive but the hotel really needs it now.

We stayed in a superior sea view. It was one of the ones that had been recently `done up` but the carpet on the floor was stained and shabby, its a shame that hadnt been replaced. The rest of the room looked like it had been bodged up.The magnifying make up mirror on the bathroom wall had been put up by drilling through a tile which had then split but had been left like it.Our friends had a room with a connecting door which was unlocked on arrival and allowed access to their room and that of the other occupants. The maid did come and lock it however, luckily we are an honest bunch or we could have helped ourselves to anything in the neighbouring room.

We had a deal whereby we had the choice of having either 5 breakfasts OR the Saturday Bar B Q free. We chose to have the option of the 5 free breakfasts, but were not told that these had to be taken on certain days or you have to pay. Consequently we decided to spread them out over the 10 days we were there. One morning we would have it, then the next we would take a walk up to Soi 6 to the Sportsman or round the corner to Gregs Kitchen for the best English breakfasts in Pattaya! When we checked out we were billed for two of these breakfasts at 35 quid a couple! Never worth it for although there seemed like plenty of choice most of the dishes were unidentifiable! We complained about it pointing out that nobody had made us aware that the breakfasts had to be taken before a certain date, and to their credit they did knock them off the bill, but were obviously not happy to do so, so beware if you go witha deal like this.

The maids and pool staff are truly lovely and helpful as we always found them to be.The decor changes within the hotel round the lift areas on each floor we found to be now more modern, plain and with an impersonal buisness like air, maybe just not to our taste though. The Dusit is in a very good location as a short walk out of the back gate takes you right along the beach road and along to all the bars, restaurants, shops etc. Because of this we have always used the Dusit but may look around next time we plan to go, but then nothing stays the same forever.

Dusit the best resort by far

by TripAdvisor Member goffer

We have just returned from the Dusit in Pattaya it was the best holiday I have had in recent years,Five star it lived up to its reputation.

From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty nothing is to much trouble. The hotel manager at reception was very friendly and efficient and all the staff are a credit to her.

We stayed in a refurbished sea view room and the view from the fifth floor was to die for,and the rooms were lovely, the maid service was excellent and nothing was to much trouble always smiling staff.

Even at the pool towels were laid on the sunbeds for you very impressive, and a glass of ice cold water was delivered to your lounger.

We had the pleasure of attending the free barbacue on the Saturday night it was magnificent ,well planned and you could get anything you wanted .

Pattaya has a bit of everything culture ,luxury and sleaze , after a few days you do not notice the old men with the young Thia girls,we were not bothered in any way in any of the bars by the girls ,it was our first time in Pattaya and we are booking up to go back next year .

The resort is so cheap, great shopping and very cheap to eat out in the restaurants .

We most definatley found Thailand to be the land of smiles.

And can not wait to get back to the Dusit Resort.

AMAZING!!!!!

by TripAdvisor Member danga

i stayed at the dusit bed and breakfast from the 16 oct to 2 nov 2006.
i can honestly recommend this hotel to anyone. every morning we would go for breakfast it was really nice somthing for eveyone, (from eggs to sushi) i ate chinese every morning with an omlette it was delicious, i would sunbathe at the lagoon pool because there's more breeze than the chaba pool.

if your lookin for something to eat in the morning or afternoon there is a small outdoor beach cafe which is also great if your not bed and breakfast, you will see half of the dusit there including some of the staff on there break. you get there from the lagoon pool and walk to the right you cant miss its very cheap i recommend the spring rolls and club sandwich. the pool side bar is quite expensive so go there.

if your not staying in a sea view room demand one there much better than the garden view ones.

there is a resturant called the mantra which is an amazing resturant you cant go home without eating there otherwise your missing out on a amazing experience, trust me. in the lift get out at the second floor walk past the chaba pool and go out the gates and its right there.

overall i would definately stay at this hotel again.

Simply The Best

by TripAdvisor Member lot4004

we stayed from 24.10.06 until the 6.11.06 this is our 5th time to this hotel (second this year) it just gets better.
If you like sun every day excellent hotel standards superb service and friendly people this is for you.

We have eaten in all the restaurants and had room service as they always want to please. we take our 4 children and they love it. They try to cover all angles from Thai, japanses, English/ American and Italian.

I would recommend the hotel BBQ on the Saturday you will not believe the food this amazing

We also have eaten in other restaurants and would recommend the Mantra just outside the hotel this is an experience. (Fab)

We had a suite on the 8th floor overlooking the chabba pool and the sea. Our room was very stylishly decorated in a thai style. lounge and plasma flat screen. Bathroom was a large sunken oval bath big enough for two adults and at least one child. seperate shower. On the balcony was was two sun loungers and a shower to cool you down.

We never had to get a sun bed if you pay the pool man approx 100 bhat just over £1. We told him where we wanted to be on the first day and then he set it up every day.

The only problem is you have to leave!

5th visit to gem of a hotel

by TripAdvisor Member poledancer

We stayed at the Dusit from 4th Nov 2006 to 19th Nov 2006. We are regular visitors to this hotel, this years stay was fantastic, we upgraded to a seaview room.....well worth it!!! plenty of room for a family. The staff at this hotel are superb, the food cannot be faulted, and the general cleanliness and ambience is first class. We managed to get a sneak preview of the new rooms on the ground floor (not quite finished) they were absolutely beautiful, with a glass walled bathroom which was huge with a seperate shower cubicle, massive bath, all tiled in a wet room style. The beds were huge with duck down quilts and quality wooden sun loungers on your own garden area.....leading directly onto the pool ( i was told they were called the Cabana rooms)The reception staff even bought a present for my 9yr old son on our departure. The Loy Kratong festival evening at this hotel is spectacular, We will be returning here again in the near future without a doubt.....................ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

Dusit Resort 'Good Choice'

by TripAdvisor Member gismo

We stayed at the Dusit in Pattaya last week and were very surprised with the level of service and quality of the hotel. As it was our first trip to Pattaya, we let our travel agent recommend hotels for us, and she chose the Dusit. We are so glad. The staff go out of their way to please you, even get your own personal housemaid and a contact number if you need anything. She put slippers out for us each night and the room was spotless and very comfortably furnished, right down to the duck down pillows which cocoons your head...so comfy!. There was building going on during the day on our floor, but not a sound at night. The lobby is stunning and the breakfasts cater to every taste. We ate delicious cakes at the lobby cafe and they make a very large iced tea which is so refreshing. Altogether it was an experience to remember and we will definately be staying there again. Sue

pattaya

help me choose a hotel in pattaya- is there any clean, quiet beach with a beachfront hotel? we are aware of the notorious nightlife and are okay with it but we need a luxury hotel. anyone been and found one? appreciate help:)

Re: pattaya

by johnaalex

If you want a luxury hotel then check out the Marriott.

Go to the Pattaya section of Virtual Tourist and check the reviews. Pattaya has many 4 and 5 star hotels. Dusit Thani is the only beach front and a real 5 Star.

Re: pattaya

by Sergeyu

Mariott in general positioned in the world is higher than average, but not luxury. What I think is close to luxury ones are Royal Cliff, Royal Wing section and nearby Sheraton, but there is no good beaches in the Pattaya. You need to go for a day trip either to nearby island of Koh Larn - a lot of tourists( like everywhere in Pattaya)& facilities, reachable by speedbaot or Royal Cliff catamaran (3X week), or to a deserted but very nice Koh Paiisland (speedboat only) (bring your food&drinks or stop for the lunch at Koh Larn).Mariott has no becah as it behind the road, Royal Cliff and Sheraton has enforced by concrete shore with not really clear water ( significant changes of the tide during the day) and not always clean. Islands on oppoiste have normally clear water of attractive technocolour.

Re: pattaya

by chrismaticsoul

Try the Dusit resort Pattaya, at the north end of Pattaya it's one of the best and easy access to shopping, restaurants etc. Or you could try the Royal Cliff which is about 10 minutes south of the city center towards Jomtien beach.
