Bangkok to Hanoi
hanoi to HCMC
HCMC to Indonesia

i need to do these booking as close as posible to the time i fly out. Eg, when i arrive in Bangkok i wanna book a ticket to Hanoi departing Bangkok with 4 days ect. should i do it direct withthe airline or a tour company ect. Thanks

Re: domestic flights

BKK-HAN and SGN-Indonesia use Air Asia

HAN-SGN use Vietnam Air

book online at their respective sites for the best prices (the sooner the cheaper)

Re: domestic flights

by dessamuel

i would like to book online but i dont have a credit card / visa card, have to do it cash.

Re: domestic flights

by Curt1591

Because such travel is not "domestic", you do have/plan to get a visa, correct?

Re: domestic flights

HCMC to Indonesia -> Lion Air

Bangkok to Hanoi -> Air Asia

Re: domestic flights

You will certainly need a credit card to do online booking. Get one? Otherwise use a travel agent..

Re: domestic flights

I recently flew form bangkok to hanoi with air asia and would reccommend it.
You could also use air asia for the flight between HCMC and Indonesia. I wouldnt reccommend air asia for long distances, but for short ones, they are a great low cost airline, that have a good reputation

Re: domestic flights

by dessamuel

Hi there, thanks. I just can't seem to find a flight to Indonesia from HCMC. The only flight i can get is to Singapore.

Re: domestic flights

by Jeshie

air asia flys from HCMC to Jakarta.
depends where you are going in indonesia.
you may have to do a stop off.
you could always then jump on a flight with Garuda Indonesia, which is their national airline and can take you all over the country.

Re: domestic flights

by dessamuel

@curt: just used the wrong word "domestic" yes i do have visa's in place.

Re: domestic flights

Have you tried Lion Air website.

When I was in HCMC, there was a Lion Air plane at the gate. I believe Lion Air flies to Indonesia direct.

However, do enquire, do a search on the quality of the plane and service.

Re: domestic flights

by sheherezad

I've just checked airasia.com - they fly from HCMC (SGN) to Jakarta (CGK):-

QZ 7737 2020 (SGN) - 2325 (CGK)

I could find flights for today (Wed)/Fri/Sun/Mon/Wed (next week).

Which airline were you checking?

Re: domestic flights

by sheherezad

And a flight search on expedia.com shows Malaysia Airlines also flies from SGN to CGK with a connection in KUL..

Re: domestic flights

by dessamuel

hi there, i was checking airasia, i want to fly out of vietnam around the 10th/11th march to indonesia. but jetstar is okay with me. are you a travel agent.

Re: domestic flights

by sheherezad

BTW was the last qustion for me?? If it is, the answer is: NO ;-) Was just trying to help (which is what we try to do on VT travel forum) since I've travelled AirAsia to Hanoi from KUL:-) And know it would be cheaper for you - have never flown Jet Star!

Travel Tips for Bangkok

Applying for foreign Visa's in Bangkok

by earthflyer

The majority of travellers get their Visa's to other countries in Bangkok through a travel agents, Let them take the hassle and you enjoy more time in Bangkok hassle free

Most visa's aplications will take a 1-2-3 days depending what country you going to but for Laos if I remember I got it back the end of next working day.

Don't hand over your passport if it is a friday wait until monday because nothing will be done on weekends and Thai public holidays.

Make a visit to the Oriental...

by artlady

Make a visit to the Oriental Spa. They treat you like royalty. I just had a massage, but next time, I will get a half day package. The people in Thailand are so friendly and helpful! Everyone I met (except a few touts on the street) were sincerely nice.

Buy some Thai whisky! Brands...

by drxym

Buy some Thai whisky! Brands like Black Cat, Sangthip and Mekhong are available at insanely cheap prices (€3.50 for a 750ml bottle) and it's perfectly drinkable stuff! You'd easily pay 5 times as much for a comparable quality western whisky.

Note: Don't buy it in the Bangkok airport ripoff duty free area, get it from Tesco Lotus, Tops or another regular supermarket.

Songkran Festival - water everywhere...

by shintarojon

April 12 - 16, 2006

Celebrating Songkran Festival for the first time was quite funny and interesting. Better to be ready for the water-pouring so it is advised to wear shirt and shorts.

Don't be shock if someone will pour water on you and put some powder in your face.

Don't be angry...

Just smile!!!!

Lord Buddha

by Bjorgvin

There are different representations of the Lord Buddha. He is sitting, standing, walking or reclining.
1) Sitting Buddha: a) Teaching dharma (the essential function or nature of a thing). Buddha's hands are turning the Dharma wheel (left hand in lap, right hand gesturing). b) 'Taking the Earth to witness' (left hand in lap, right hand touches ground). Buddha calls on the goddess of the earth against evil. c) Stop fighting (left hand in lap, right palm raised). d) Begging position (one hand in lap, other palm begging). e) Meditating (both hands in lap, palms up, and right hand on top).
2) Standing Buddha: a) Stopping a flood (both palms raised). b) Calling for rain (both arms down at the sides, palms against thighs). c) Meditating (both hands in lap, palms against the body, and right hand on top). d) Giving alms holding a bowl with rice or other food.
3) Walking Buddha: Walking around in order to teach the Dharma (left hand raised).
4) Reclining Buddha: The Lord Buddha has reached Nirvana. He is sleeping and waiting for death.
